photos of computer setups

I have started collecting photos of "8-bit" computer set ups. I think it is fascinating to see the places where all kinds of computer magic happens/happened. I am mostly interested in home settings - rooms from any time and any place. Demoscene relation is good but not necessary, hi-res photos are preferred (with credits), informative texts and and stories is excellent.

Possibly, this is something that would be published aswell.
With a collection like this it is possible to see what was behind all those screen, to contextualize digital works with a physical place. Postdigital, as the theorists say. We wanna see your data office!

Spread the word! If you are interested, or just have some links and input, please post here or e-mail info@goto80.com. Or bring them to LCP! :) Thanks!

Ok, so four years later... Great to see there's still activity here! I am happy to announce that this project is more alive than ever! The plan is to present a printed version at the music/art festival CLICK in Helsingör/Denmark in May.

So feel free to POST MORE PICTURES AND STORIES and get eternal fame and glory. Some of the pics posted here will definitely be used. I will get in touch with you.

I can't say much more about it right now, so instead I will post a photo of the peak of my datacorner from Masthugget, Göteborg in 2007. A small room of 30 square meters where I lived for about two years. For some reason I especially remember making the soundtrack for the Sharp demo in here.

I didn't have any transfer machinery back then, so me and Jackasser tried to transfer my song-data as audio out from the C64, iirc. In the end it failed so I visited Magervalp at his university office where he had a solid C64-transfer setup. :)

Two laptops, two Commodores, two Casio keyboards, two joysticks, two beers, two mixers, two rolls of tape. All you need!

My office - _sadly_ the place where most of my sid tunes are composed as there is hardly any time visiting the old data corner these days. Le sigh.

Linus you big shite... :) Visit the group channel more please... I heard Calpol is great for drugging up kids... (j/k :) )

On a more serious note, have you used your tablet for any OSC or LEMUR type stuff?
Really interested in that kinda stuff atm... considering acquiring a tablet for that purpose.
Never knew you had an the XP80 either... ;)

Oh well frack it... I will post my current-ish setup from some quite a few months back (years?)... now this is mess. Not even data mess. Just mess... ;)

Notes:
1: I dislike pizza crusts.
2: My cat did not have fleas for any long period. And besides those cat drops are totally pointless. Unless you like the smell of lemon.
3: Underneath the flea drops you can see 2 7" records - Axel F/The heat is on, and Man 2 Man feat Man parrish - Male Stripper... fairly camp no? (good song tho imo ;) )
4: Grinder, protopipe and papers... I have no idea how they got there! Really!
5: Box under desk is the 64hdd machine.

PS: sorry for breaking formatting, which I undoubtably will ;) (Not the first culprit tho, so... ;) )

Nice place you got there, Mark! <3

I use the tablet for iOS app dev and playing around with SunVox mostly.

And yeah, I will definitely visit the channel more often now, I promise. Maybe.

On a side note ... I still love you, no worries!
