C64 demos are lame

@Doom^IRIS

It turns out there are no average people. And I wouldn't say current Amiga releases aren't interesting. They're sort of in between PC releases and C64 ones, for better or worse. At least Amiga demos don't make your ears bleed, and you can actually tell one effect apart from the next when watching an Amiga production. Mind you I've seen some jaw-dropping C64 stuff, but not at any parties I've been to recently.

The C64 community may now hate me if they are so inclined. Go on, you can do it. I know you're angry. And anger leads to hate. Hate leads to hatred. Hatred leads to malice. Malice leads to enmity. Enmity leads to repugnance. Repugnance leads to bitterness. And it sort of stops there because my thesaurus sucks.

Really, C64 demos are lame. It's like they all use the same palette, and only like 16 cols or summin. Like a little bit of originality would kill you. I also think if the C64 coders knew more about cache optimization, that'd help a lot. And I hate how AHX is so popular on the C64. I mean, it's a nice sound and all, but really, it's been done too much already.

Well, pretending to be an enormous idiot is a unique definition of irony but yeah that demo shivered my balls too (it has tits and stuff).

1st. Doom is right 64ér demos are lame ;)
2nd. The Iris demo looks like a wanna be copy of FR demos on pc.

Perhaps he should come down from his horse and should try to code with more limitations in the system.

It´s a pitty that such treats raises again (thought this period was over after 1993(?))
Last time i had this discussion was at an amiga party in Hamburg(supplex,complex sanity).

When i want to see such kind of demos i open my winamp visualisation.
Seriously this kind of flame war suxx and only shows the less knowledge of some wanna bees.

To be honest, quite a lot of c64-demos look like wannabe PC/Amiga-demos from the 90's, only with fucked up blocky resolution and horrible framerate. I should know ;)
