Mavis Beacon C64 never cracked?
Hi guys,
I just noticed Mavis Beacon 64 (disk version) on ebay. For those who don't know, the Mavis Beacon program teaches you touch typing - pretty useful for coders and, well, anybody. I checked on CSDb to find a crack of it, and there was nothing! :O Could it really be that no one has cracked/imported/released this one (yet)?

Akira yeah! I could see if yours has a bug on disk 3 track 3 starts and then hangs! Not sure what sector but I can't seem to see any data in track that would show 23 or 21 read error (21 read error would have data from another sector and 23 read error would have FF bytes where the sector failed to load! I've been looking at the whole disk but more versions I have the better. And when finished I will need those who want to test it their E-mail addy so I can send it as it will help since I can not type fast enough and with less errors. And then when I get the NTSC version squeeky clean no errors is when I will get to pulling the data off and see if I can pull it out of protected mode! (Means the disk has been z-coded and needs to be brought out and back to file loading type!) more I guess later! Here is my e-mail addy mad_max1@netzero.com and tell me if you want to be a tester so I can save you to my beta testers list! Thanks guys!

Is this craxxortalk me not understands?
Mad could at least use his enter key from time to time!
So I get this right - you have like half a dozen copies of the same original and wonder about some "error" which spreads across all originals - which could as well be part of the protection...

WTF? Thats the BASIC thing when even THINKING about "cracking" something, huh?

Well for those who want to bitch there is a forum for it and this is not it!
Error is not part of the protection this is on the original which I have not 1 but 3 original copies that was sealed untill I opened them!
My drive is an excellerator plus 1541 clone! It failed to read disk 3 track 3 sector 4 and this was while I was typing!
Next I tried it in my SX64 with its built in drive once with Jiffydos off and then tried it with it on! Both attemps failed!
Now I have told what I found and it happens with my other 2 copy versions the copy I got from Jim Scaberry and my Original Crack I did in 1988 which all are NTSC only but in 1996 I did a special hack for PAL owners it worked but unless you didn't do what my Info file said it would not load. This was not acceptable to Gamebase since they wanted it to not need a special technique!
Disk 3 seems to be so far the only one that bugs and I have LR's save disk and I thought maybe some fast typists could test it and see if it bugs anywhere while they are using the one from gamebase as the save disk I have of LR's could be the culprit! I can't get that high with my authoritic hands!
Thanks for the help!
