Empire!
Might as well start me own news thread, this way I can simply reply to myself everytime I "come back from the dead" - which means every few years I guess ;-)
U'll never get rid of us salmons either ;-)
Well, I tried to post this yesterday but once I clicked "submit" I lost like 3 screens of text (grmbl.) I'll copy to clipboard this time!
So why am I here now? Rich made me come (here) ;-)
STORY: Two weeks ago, I get a phone msg from Rich/Emp telling me his info and all. I call him up and we talk of the good ol'times for a long time. Turns out he'd been trying to call me up ONCE A DAY for some 3 months now. But he was calling from work and the number that my phone was showing me was like a company number so I'd never answered! I thought it might be some marketing or credit company and I couldn't be bothered ;-) It was a very tenacious credit/mktg guy calling but I didn't care how persistent he was, I wasn't answering ;-)
STORY: So I talk to Rich and I ask him if he's got news of ATN/Extremist, coz the last time I'd talked to him, like 4 years before, he'd sent me a picture of him and this 75 years old he'd called "his chick" - so I'd never called him back, not knowing what to say ;-) And when I'd talked to Rich about it, he'd said "sure, that's his chick" - Turns out it was the MOTHER of ATN's girl, but the joke lasted like 4 years! I have ATN on the phone now, he says Hi!
STORY: At some point in time, you may have heard that I was going to come back and fix some games from [L]egend. I had sold my 64 some 2 years before and I'd bought one back then, and I'd called the guy I'd sold my previous one to, trying to get my AR back, and he'd said he "needed the fast loaded" - hahaha, lamer! My PC was (still is!) a Celeron 300a so emulation turned out to be too slow - or maybe at that time I still had the Amiga 2000, can't remember, it was too slow anyway. So I lost interest, and never even tried out the C64 I bought; I've been lugging that box around for years now ;-) I hope it works that computer.
NEWS: So what am I doing now? I've been programming on mainframes/minis in COBOL/JCL/etc for banks and other big businesses for the past 10 years - quite a change from 64 asm ;-) I've not been doing any "object oriented" stuff or anything on PC so I'm really really not up to date (will go back to University this winter.)
DocSnyder's: I found out about this page recently; the guy remakes 64 intros into Flash code, you have GOT to check this out, it's just too cool: www.docsnyderspage.de
Enough,
More later...
HOK: I've found you my love! ;-)
