Best Format to distribute demos etc?

I've recently retrieved my C64 (and 300+ floppies from the loft) and have found a whole load of music, demos etc from 1988 - 1992 that I'm sure people would be interested in.

So, not that I've got my hands on a XM1541 cable and can transfer all this stuff to the PC, what are everyone's preferences for the way to distribute this stuff?

Obviously if it's a multi-part demo, then it's obvious that you just use a .d64 disk image...

But what about small stand alone files... music with players etc? Just distribute the .prg or what?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Bizz.

(and i'm even lazier than the both of you)

Pfah, I could give you numerous examples of why I'm lazier than you, but I just can't be bothered, that's how lazy I am.

Bizzmo: d64 is nice. But winzipped d64 is even cooler.
Loking forward to your uploads!

By the way, do you have old paper mags? Like Iguana, Nails etc?

I have no paper mags now. I used to have a massive stack of them, but my dad made me throw them all out many many years ago! sorry!

Damn, what a pity! So hard to find them and preserve them.

We must preserve! :)

Well things are going ok so far! I've gone through about a third of my discs and transferred all the ones that read as .d64s...

Got another two hundred to go through, but I'm getting there!

Is there any chance of getting them as soon as you're ready?

Bizzmo, I my guess is you will have a lot of whats already on the net, but also bits and pieces no one has online. Heheh.

Amazing what you can find amongst those disks, I was looking for something yesterday and stumbled across two cracks from Nukebusters and a few demos that were not on the net. Heheh. Without even trying.
