Buying Commodore hardware
Buying an old shape Commodore 64 in good fully working condition is so difficult. Ebay appears to ideal place, although time and time again, Im outbid by people who are obviously deperate for a Commodore 64. It makes me wonder who these people could possibly be.
My Commodore 64 boots up, but has issues. Random dots appears on the screen, as and when. Editors are out of the question, and running demos is hit n'miss. |

..after butchering 3 broken breadboxes (1 worked, all be it without sound, and weird screen issues) Ive ended up with what appears to be a working C64. So now have a 1993 old / original luminance 64 and a 1994 with new luminance 64 :D
EOD running on standard TV, for that extra bass that the Commodore Monitor lacks :)
Its good to see c64 demos without the screen to audio miss timing that emu's feature. |

Spoke too soon ;)
Loaded up Krestage 3, it loaded fine. 'Run' the demo and the intro worked fine. Then came the next part, and that to ran fine, until the 9th sprite appeared, well it didnt appear. The music went wrong, one of the grey raster lines in the lower border vanished, and the whole screen turned black ? - I wonder what chip as the fault? |
