What's you favorite?
A number of times I've been surprised when listening to tunes that for some or the other reason have been suggested for listening by other users of this forum. I thought that some of you would like to share some of your favourites with the rest of us. It could probably broughten our horizons and at least let people hear some tunes that haven't gotten the attention they disserve. Anyone up for it? |

Quote: Deacon played bass for Queen - you probably meant Brian May, although I would agree far more if the praise was really for John Deacon. May's guitar style is far too hard rock and 'explosive' for my taste, whilst the Queen basslines are classic and sometimes inevitably funky.
Back to nous moutons.

Ah yeah. That solo must have been played by May. I have just remembered, that the song author was Deacon. According to wikipedia, the solo (synth) is played by someone called "Fred Mandel - live, however, May played it on guitar.". To me (the version from "The Works" album) it sounded like some filtered guitar, but maybe it was the synth. Can't check now, the record stayed at parent's home. |

Quote: I remember hearing Cybernoid and some of Laxity's tunes on my blue walkman when I was 12 and was on a trip to Bornholm (a danish island) - I remember feeling a tad embarresed about it since I knew others thought it sounded weird so I kept a low profile. But I do remember a couple of freaks in my class who did the same so I could share my taste of music with others. Funny I never recorded any of Rob og Galway's stuff I guess I preferred the more emotional leads (IMO) in Jeroen Tel and Laxity's music.
The Cybernoid loading music was the first J.Tel music i experienced. There was a demo of Cybernoid on the Zzap! megatape and while i did not care too much for the game, the music was damn amazing. I was thinking, Martin Galway and Rob Hubard you'd better watch out, there is a new kid on the block. Must have reloaded Cybernoid about 12+ times that day. The in game title screen J.Tel music for Hawkeye was even better. |

Well if J.Tel had not come along, we had other members of MoN that made some great tunes between them. And what ever happend to Guy Shavit, he came, he gave us a few good tunes and then vanished? |

I think I can shamelessly pick and put Dane's name beside Hubbard, Galway, Daglish, Reyn Ouwehand, Jeroen Tel, and Guy Shavitt :) |

Have to say, some of Dane's tunes have been really good, the finnal tune on the Don't Meet Crest demo is among his best. Daglish has never been a fav of mine, his music sounds to harsh and hurts the ears. Tim Follin deserves a mention, his work on Ghosts n'Ghouls was really something. |

Anyway, Brian May said about himself: "I'm not a good guitar player... my style is miserable..." Im glad, this "tread" is still alive, after that single sentence by Maurader and Oswald. Im still stuck in the loop, sorry, music isn't that important at all ...... But Dane is a pure suede !;))
