C64 Graphixians in real world
There was a topic about C64 composers and their real life, but what about the graphicians?
I'm really curious what C=64 graphicians do now!
And sorry if this was already mentioned before here on the CSDB forum.
So to start the discusion I was doing graphics (DTP and some illustrations mostly on MAc ;) ) from 1998-2003 from 2004 I'm more into IT World actin' now as IT architect - it's not sexy, and not related to graphics at all, belive me ;) - far from it!
I know what DeeKay does (Hi Daniel) but I'm really curious what legends as Hein, Mirage, Leon, Valsary( I know a bit here), Cruise, Joe, Duce, Deev,Ptoing, Pernod, Dragon do in real live... (OH and there are more of you guys ;) sorry if I messed any of you pixelers here
So ?

In fact gfx is more like a private part of my life since 1992. After quitting the games industry I changed my profession kitchen planner (retail, manufacturer and also development/support for furniture CAD system). Nowadays I work as a system administrator in a furniture distribution company. This might sound a bit boring, but I simply love this job. It is because of the young staff (about 50 people), friendly atmosphere and I am the only person in my division... |

FFFFUUUbird is so terribly offended by the OP's obviously provocative deed by leaving out his name from this so-called *cough* "legend" *cough* list, whilst including Leon, widely known as his old nemesis and long time scene-enemy - that he decided to boycott this thread and call up for closing it immediately! FFFFUUUbird is not amused!
I do web development. :)

I work as a web designer, mostly my job is to keep everything looking pretty on screen, though I do bits of ASP and PHP too, if required... |

i wasn't a hardcore graphician, nor hardcore coder.. though i did a lot of C64 demos. And still i'm not specialised in anything ;) Nowadays i'm a web developer (.NET, ASP, PHP and Actionscript) at an interactive media company and doing all the media-related stuff (web, vinyl covers, mailings, etc) for a dj bookings/management and music company. |

So, many graphicians use web based programming languages. That explains all these shitty web pages :)))) jk. |

Actually you're not far from the truth :)
Being a DTP typographist by profession (quite a smooth, easy and laid-back thing to do) makes me deeply deeply averse to badly designed scripting languages, working in groups, evaluating ugly code, strict schedules, stupid cross-browsing optimizations, setting up servers, or fixing the stupidest little bugs for hours and hours.
And once your job is so miserable, you just put out the stuff and try to forget it forever as soon as possible, just like when you run out from the toilet after taking a very stiff, heavy, malodorous, sickening, asshole-rupturing dump. |
