credits: Sampling > Digitizing
May I suggest that the credits list is changed?
Instead of 'sampling' it should contain 'digitizing', because than you can use it for both sound and video/pictures.
Useful for Star Trek Generations. |

Quoting ScoutI completely disagree with this.
Sampling != Digitizing I do not agree that sampling is not the same as digitizing.
Why else are we calling those sampled sounds 'digis' then?
Digitizing is the process of converting whatever (analogue) signal/information into something digital.
And to continue this issue:
Scanning is a FORM of digitizing, but is not the process used to make still images of moving video (like the afore-mentioned Star Trek demo).
- Scanning is the process of digitizing a still image
- Capturing is the process of digitizing moving video (let's throw DV on that same pile for now)
- Sampling is the process of digitizing audio
My aim was to find a universal credit for the entire process of converting audio, video and images into something for C64, hence 'digitizing'.
If you like, keep graphics and audio separated by having 'sampling' in de credit list. But we also need something for the graphics!
Quoting ViolatorHow about sample as release typ aswell. Why not change 'music' into 'sound/music'? |

And you failed big time.
What amazes/annoys me is that you of all people (with a musical background) should have known better regarding the sampling vs digitizing issue.

I am not at all aware of an 'issue' concerning sampling vs digitizing, if there is any.
It's the same, as I explained quite clearly.
