well... it's IMHO huge historical achievement (if it does what it is supposed to do) so it should get it's entry in WIKIPEDIA (sooner or later), but probably not now.. we need to wait for year or so until it gets spread and properly tested. The publisher doesn't need help with promo (as I've understood his order-list is full right now) and if he needs it, I don't have problem to put a big huge banner at www.c64.sk ( ~400-600 uniques a day)
p.s.: I want one too!! ;-)

I voiced my opinion in the discussion. Very well-written article though. |

It's mentioned in an article on the Dutch site Computer Idee (which is basically about the HCC meeting next Saturday). No clue if that's "notable" enough but at least it's not just a commodore bbs ;) |

IMO, the mention in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodore_64_peripherals#Present_a.. is enough, but apparently the MMC64 has its own article, so I don't really see why this can't. |

radiant: delete? wtf???
linde: Both the reference in c64 peripherals and the mmc64 article are from me. Only back then I didn't have to stand infront of a court and explain to a jury that has no clue and does not care why this is worthy... Pisses me off, I'm through contributing to Wikipedia, seriously!... If I get that "otherstuffexists" reasoning once more I'm gonna puke, Wikipedia is CHOCK FULL OF ARTICLES ON ANY ABSURD SUBJECT YOU CAN THINK OF (that's exactly why people like it so much!) and they tell me I need to justify my article? Yeah right!..
chancer: I'm gonna get mine in a few hours! ;-) |

Wikipedia is crap. A guy from the "atari task force" decides about CBM related articles... Tells a lot. |

DeeKay: It's barely been released... In a year or so there is probably enough notability for a separate article, until then it should simply be mentioned in for example the Commodore 64 peripherals article that linde linked to. |

Until then, we can enjoy ourselves reading an article about one of the fictional friends of Sonic the Hedgehog that spans 8 printed pages :)

were you sure you weren't a door to door salesman of encyclopaedia's ? (we used to have them in the uk)
I don't think it's all bad, just taking everything on there as gospel is a no no, using it as a source and doing a bit more research is handy at times.
Now it makes me think, do I wait or buy the mmc ?. After reading, I notice the bit about the tape interface, that sounds interesting if I could use it to port tapes I have (normally with custom loaders). Being £92+ makes me wait, as I'd rather not buy something that turned out to be a lemming.
I guess more sceners having it = more chance of people making utils for it (maybe there is already, and I'm just being dumb).
Although I'm sure the angle of someone who knows the machine pretty well inside out to test it = whats good or maybe bad about it. |
