Funny that they deleted Scout's pics and some comments (like mine about the mods having left the building), but not the math-nonsense :)

Try Project One.

And for what it's worth, here are some of my own rules of thumb:
1. start with sketching up the entire outline of the logo. Not just the first letter.
2. think colour luminance rather than just restricting yourself to making a logo that is "red". That way you have all the colours of the palette at hand.
3. try to be different.

And some people here need to be more welcoming to new guys who want to start out doing stuff on the c64. It's not as if they are knocking down your door on a daily basis.

Word, Archmage! I mean isn't that supposed to be one of the main objectives of this site? I'm so glad there are newcomers like Dr. 8 Bit taking interest. Since 9/10 of them come to this place first, I think they should be welcomed more to tell you the truth - or at least be informed better when they ask any type of question, no matter what skill level the question is.

I recommend Logo Painter 3+ by Polonus of Quartet and Silver Dream...if you are looking for a character set logo. It took me a half hour or so to learn all its nuances and controls, but once I'd gotten over that curve, I soon got underway with my first logo. I'm really happy with that program and I'm definatly planning on using it for my next intro/demo.

I too am a beginner...I've been coding and drawing logos for the c64 for about two months. I've really been obsessed with getting back into the c64 (I had my first one back in 1986 when I was 12 years old). Like Jackasser said in another part of the forum...the secret to success on the C64 is to become dedicated. If the scene is to survive into posterity, it needs an injection of new graphicians, coders, musicians, etc.
