C64 demos are lame
@Doom^IRIS
It turns out there are no average people. And I wouldn't say current Amiga releases aren't interesting. They're sort of in between PC releases and C64 ones, for better or worse. At least Amiga demos don't make your ears bleed, and you can actually tell one effect apart from the next when watching an Amiga production. Mind you I've seen some jaw-dropping C64 stuff, but not at any parties I've been to recently.
The C64 community may now hate me if they are so inclined. Go on, you can do it. I know you're angry. And anger leads to hate. Hate leads to hatred. Hatred leads to malice. Malice leads to enmity. Enmity leads to repugnance. Repugnance leads to bitterness. And it sort of stops there because my thesaurus sucks.
Really, C64 demos are lame. It's like they all use the same palette, and only like 16 cols or summin. Like a little bit of originality would kill you. I also think if the C64 coders knew more about cache optimization, that'd help a lot. And I hate how AHX is so popular on the C64. I mean, it's a nice sound and all, but really, it's been done too much already.

Cache you say? I guess he means the directory where a browser puts the components of his visited websites. Like Pouet logos, random images, pr0n, you name it.
So of course, C64 scene knows much less about cache optimization as we don't have many browsers on our computer.
(I'm not an idiot, just terrible at irony) |

And I was going to say that I thought cache optimisation has something to do with maximising revenue, but then I thought that might be a bit too predictable and rather weak humour so I decided not to. |

Oh, Doom^IRIS could learn a lot from you...
Hey wait, you tricked that cache-joke into the post after all! You can't fool me, Bizzmo. |

This is what WIKI says:
"This format is a synth-tracker. That is, there are no samples in the module file, rather descriptions of how to synthesize the required sound. This results in very small audio files (AHX modules are typically 1k - 4k in size), and a very characteristic sound. AHX is designed to sound as much like a Commodore 64 as possible."
So essentially this Doom fellow means SID, but can probably not spell it. |

Doom fellow is saying we suck because we're making C64 music that is too much like C64 music. I'm not sure if he wants it better or worse. |

"The blind is telling from colours" i would call it.
He is a troll, don´t know much about C64 coding.
Hey, but next time we tell him how to code his amiga and how to optimize the blitter.
But in the end it is lame. Best is not react on people which don´t know what they wrote.
By reaction on it he gets the attention he wants and guys like him aren´t worth it in my opinion.
