Em, not being bitchy here but.... Isn't the manual actually bit messy/not too correct as to how pu/flt programs works? ;) |

Robozz: great, you did it :D
Booker: yes in the manual, GRG has switched around on some bytes, so you have to fight like a madman to get it working :D
I think some thread, Devia writes how the puls/filt bytes REALLY are.. maybe the SDI 2.0 thread.. :D
F.ex i could never get the pulse HOLD function to work, as described in the manual.. I asked geir in a mail, which he never answered :D |

It is described in the manual, the pulse hold. And it works. I can't remember that email Jan, just way too many I've answered during the time. Just to answer a little thing, during the 90's SDI was programmed. It was done in three months in 1996 (the source of GT-Editor, not to be confused with Goattracker,LOL). Then in 1997 I gave it to GRG. Then it got released sometime...
The examples in the SDI 2.0 Manual should work. There is some Pulse and Filter things GRG didn't know of. That's the only thing missing in the manual. Just a nybble/direction thing, some bit checks.
Take care guys. SDI V3 or whatever it will be called, will have a proper manual. GRG and I are working on it now and then, when we don't have kids around.
@Necropolo, you don't use SDI, do you ? |

LOL now THAT is some serious higs horse attitude and support towards users from the developer :)
People rarely use all the features of things and even less rarely start to handle things perfectly just after learning the manuals. Maybe, everything is obvious for the insider developer - surely not so obvious for outsiders, even if experienced. Users are not perfect but they keep alive the actual object, right? :)
Another odd thing: Jan is known of being one of the most faithful and skilled users of SDI who just tried to understand the problem and practically help (and as it seems he gave an useful field-test advice). I really can't understand your bad-ass-day reaction for him. I guess he knows all of them facts well.
odo: listen to the man, Future Composer is fun as well - but why don't you try GoatTracker2.x instead? SDI is great indeed, it is the most advanced and flexible SID composing tool to date, no doubt - but GT is more than capable of producing compo-winner hi-fi sounds, too (proven), not to mention friendly support...
What was all this good for ?
You don't have any sence of humour when I say "Use Future Composer V1.0" ?
Amazing. Read your posts in this thread. There is nothing useful to read for SDI users. Just bullshit. No offence.

Best and healthy wishes from,

@Geir: No, at least haven't released a tune done with it. Done some test rides with it as well as many other SID editors/trackers (old and new). SDI is an impressive tool. I bet 3.0 will contain many pioneering things. |

What healthy is "healthy"? :)
Okay, what was that good for...
If you put your hands on your heart and say it was addressed as a joke of some kind, please take my sincere apologies.
It rather sounded like a cleverly wrapped "Aw, hell... Y'all, bloody stoopid. Go use some old shit editor instread."
Why would that piss off someone and post off-topic crap?
Before answering that, some solid facts:
1. You're one of the best music coders, very few could go that far with SID knowledge.
2. You're one hell of a composer with a fabulous past and and line of SIDs.
3. In the present scene everyone seems to be very respectful to you and your talent. I don't know about the past (group fights, personal push-pulls, whatsoever) but I can see that in the present, for sure.
So, I was thinking when I started typing: why the hell can someone like you fart in the face of people who respect you...?
Again: if I got it wrong then shooting straight, no sarcasm, no hidden minigames: take my apologies, man.
