THE MOVERS Treasure Chest

Hi all ya guyz around here...

We've just started to open our Treasure Chest...

http://rapidshare.com/files/9304647/Hahni-Soft_of_WCS.ZIP.html

This first package are the transferred disks from Hahni Soft of WCS... WCS was just a local group. Jezi got later a member of Strike Force and Ruhrpott Cracker was also in the WCS (but actually we can't remember his handle at that time; we will add him then with his correct handle)...

as i am transfering VERY dirty disks at the moment i found following solution to clean disks:

70% ALCOHOLE !!!

that's how the disks look like:

side a

side b

and then they get cleaned:

side a - cleaned

works great! saves lots of old disks! (at least the content ;)

cheers...

i'd use "pure" alcohol, not 70% ... best is to ask for special "lense cleaning" alcohol, which contains no water nor anything else (but alcohol ofcourse).

what about dirt beeing only water- but not alcohol-soluble?
is there anything like this??
i guess this water/alcohol mixture is the better solution, or what is against this?

it will not dry completely (some water will remain on the surface) and cause oxidation.

i used 90% alcohole before and it destroyed the surfance of lots of disks, which became due to this unreadable, the 70% alcohole did not destroy anything til now... and also, i only want to read those disks once, if the stuff on them is needed, its always better to save it back to new disks...
