Sid Duzz It

Hi'yall,

I was wondering who else is using Shape's SDI editor around here. I would like to talk about the editor with other users about their experiences with it and maybe some technical blah blah aswell.

Cheers!

After you get the tune to SIDPLAY,
set the SPEED to 60hz (in sidedit)

yes I got, thanks a million times to everybody who helped me! It's so great that I've now learned this stuff! I'm happy, thanks! :) (my tune made it in time to the compo)

...I'm sure you people can't wait it when I start asking questions about how to make a 12x-speed song with digis work ;) ;)

BTW, I recorded mp3's of my latest tune with 4 different SIDs, 2 6581s (no rev marking, so they are rev2?), one rev4 (I think) and one 8580 - It's an interesting comparison between different SIDs. I'll upload the files somewhere when I've got the time. (my rev2 sounds very different from the other 6581's)

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I think I should learn SDI again myself. It's been more than ages. Is it possible to use with i.e. WinVice? Does it sound like a real C-64?

it is possible to use sdi in WinVice. the emulated 6581(thats the model you want to use right ?) is already quite accurate if you select resid-fp but not everything sounds 100% accurately yet and it will be awhile before you cant tell it apart from a real chip.

Thanks guys.

I'm using Vice under Windows with the 8580 Emulation. And I really love SDI.
I cant stop praising Glenn and Geir for it.

Stainlesssteel: with the new sid chips in vice 2.1, you should try 6581 R4 AR model 3789

Then set low values in filter

great distortions that 8580 cannot do!
