Composers' real life
Hi, 8bitters
I'm always wondering what the C64 composers are doing in real life, of course not their private lives but musical.
For example, I know that Reyn Ouwehand is a live instrumental musician, I'm very proud of it, but dunno about a lot others whom I rarely see on CSDB.
e.g. I've managed several times to get reply from Jeroen Tel, Shogoon, and I saw them with guitars on some pictures..and I'm very curious if they are playing in band or compose on other platforms, etc.
I love Cosmic and its alternative bass and also wondering during listening if Stainless Steel is a funky-musician.
If you have news about them to share with us, or if you are a composer and want to tell about your activities, it's the topic I think.
This can help us by knowing where they got the influences/motivation from, how they could make these great compositions.
E.g. I'm mainly a bass player & singer, I have a pop-band, but my best dream is to play in a C64 remixer band, like "Press Play On Tape."
If you're interested in this topic, I'm excitedly waiting for replies.
READY.

It's nice to know some people are taking their composing skills on the road :)
Some of my recent work is streamable from http://www.sanxion7.com but probably not quality enough to get signed or anything. |

If you know what is not quality, you can improve those areas, and become quality. so do it! |

Interesting topic.. :) .. IRL I play the piano / keyboards, and I do it pretty well all things considered.
These days and for the past 8 years or so, I've been working as a game programmer doing implementations of pretty much all sorts of game related things, from platform over gameplay to 3D stuff. I've worked on pretty much any platform that can run a game.. It's a job I enjoy a lot. Besides that I run a freelance business where I compose music for this and that. Mainly for games.
A few years back, I think around 2001 I was in a band that had a CD out, but I was only there as the keyboard player and did background vocals. Was pretty fun though.
These days I play in a couple of coverbands. One where we play pop/rock music from the last couple of decades up till now, and one where we play funk/jazz stuff - which is more like music for musicians really.. Amazing that we get paid to play it really - not that it's badly played though, it's just rather out there at times ;) .. I never really had any ambitions with my own music - for no particular reason really.. maybe I'm just chicken ;) |

Maybe you wanna listen to some SID Remixes and Original Tunes I made at http://www.myspace.com/armalytemusic
I was named "SID Lover" before, but renamed myself due to ?TOO SIMPLE ARTIST NAME OVERFLOW ERROR.
Would be cool if you will add me and comment, gimme critique and your opinions please, i was spanked with them so much, that my sound almost sound good :)
The Electrotrance Album with the Tracks will be released under Aardvark Records soon as CD and at Mp3 Stores.
I do also Chillout/Ambient Music, where you can listen to some tracks at http://www.myspace.com/abehdad , "Behind The Sun" for example contains some C64 Samples and "The Flight" has some melody from Johannes Bjerregaard's "Sweet" in it. :) A Chillout Album is coming under Bonzai Records soon.
There will be even a Hardtechno-Album with C64 Samples coming soon under Aardvark Records from me :P, I am right now discussing with my label chief about the artist name.
Greetings,
Arman |
