LCP 2009 website officially open!

This was mentioned in another thread, but I thought I might just as well start a new, and a bit more "official", thread on this topic:

Little Computer People 2009

Date: 17-19 july
Location: Hemvärnsgården, Lund, Sweden.
Website: http://lcp.c64.org

Organizers:
Frantic // Taper // Iopop // Jackasser // Raveguru

The website is now officially open for people to sign up and YOU are invited. Sign up before someone else does it! ;)

Wow! It's really nice to see there are so many interested sceners. Too bad the location's too small to handle them all, but I have trust and hope that some kind of solution to that problem will turn up.

Perhaps you should open a voting page, where people can get voted out, so others can come in.

Must be a success, they build TV programs around that concept!

Hemvärnsgården + Lophtet would make a lame solution (which we may still like though). Or even a decently sized Scandinavian styled gymnastikshall as in the good old days.

If people are not let in, there is always the risk of civil disobedience. Like Kaze and SounDemon in a truck parked next to the party place, running "alternative LCP" or something similarly anarchic.

I hope this one can be solved. Tribute 2009!

Well... I don't think we will end up in a situation where zillions of sceners want to get in, but are not allowed to (reinforced by some lame nerdy "scene polices"). To be honest, it is quite clear that the rate of registrations dropped off quite strongly the last month, with the exception for the 5-6 people that suddenly signed up yesterday when the limit was imposed. This, hopefully, means that most people who actually want to come, already signed up. For the (again hopefully) quite few people that have not yet signed up, although they want to come, I think it may be possible to solve it. Hopefully mainly through other people explicitly stating that they won't be coming anyway, and I will also check if there is some possibility to cram a few more people in there. So.. all in all.. If you really want to come, then just sign up, and hopefully we can just... solve it. :)

Well, the alternative gymnastikshall is of course out of the question, since then there would also be showers :P.

Maybe reply by mail to all registered visitors asking them to reconfirm?

Yes, that's how the X orgas do it...
Seems to work quite well.

Sasq, I'd do that closer to the actual date.

Also, it wouldn't surprise me of around 20 people that 'registered' in fact never show up.

@Sasq: yes.. we'll do that of course, but a little later. (Still three months left to the party.)

Anyway, we won't remove anyone who doesn't explicitly confirm that they're not coming (avoiding problems with emails that never reach their recipient, or whatever).

@Mace: the ratio of people who do not show up is usually closer to 10% on LCP (rather than 20% or so). Some years it was even close to 0%, so one cannot really count on it.

But again: Let's first see if it is in fact a "problem" in practice at all. Maybe people stop signing up, more or less, around now anyway.

Just bring a tent, and an outdoor extension cable. Solved!
