Vice Tribute gone

Hi,

I assume some admin removed our latest release, Vice Tribute. I am puzzled why this happened and why I wasn't informed?

Quote: its not a bug, "related releases" are not shown by default - this releasetype was once created to push the stuff there that shouldnt be in the db in the first place

Thanx for the explanation.

Rather "Other Platform". :) As it works fully only on other platforms. C64 Misc is still for the C64 platform.

or just leave it "c64 demo"? it runs fine on a c64 after all - just some of the output looks different on emulator. (its not the first demo that does this, btw)

why not define what an "import" is instead? that would actually be useful afterall ;=)

One could leave it too, indeed, but then add a screenshot that actually shows what a C64 would show. Remember Errata - We Are Failure, we had a screenshot from a real C64 until we found that hoxs64 actually shows the demo correctly.

ok, thanks guys.

I cant help but wonder a bit that you are discussing the category of this production. It runs 100% on stock hardware, so IMO it's a simple onefile demo. I won't look as intended, but technically it meets the requirements.

Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for all your hard work - mountains of respect and love to you! ... oh, I noticed the sorting of Top Demos has been inverted, so a release with less votes but same score, ranks higher than one with more votes and same score :) Misleading if you ask me.

It does. So you are right. It just needs an accurate screenshot then, as the one that's there now is not really what would show on a C64, right? :) That is my point.

I suggest to make a gif with both how it looks on Vice debug borders, and the largest image taken from real HW.
If that's so fucking important... Screenshots are not the release, for me it's just splitting the hair in 4 all this matter.

Already made a gif as a compromise. :) And yes: It's relevant since the emulator-killing releases by emulamer, because we would like screenshots reflecting what the real thing would show, and not what an emulator might show. Otherwise are entering a slippery slope road away from the real machine into the dark realms of emulation only. Only real hw is the standard. ;)

Didn't even know the real thing shows a tiny vertical grey line on the right side =)
