straight from YOUR playlist
if you encounter a piece of sound so great you want to hang yourself for not being able to write something of similar quality...
if you think you've just found the best music ever made...
if you think a certain song/tune/symphony contains some unusually awesome elements...
...and you want to share it with other c64 composers and not necessarily via your facebook wall, just do it here.
explanations, reviews and so on warmly welcome.
one link per day max.
have fun. |

This is one of my favorites in the progressive rock genre, this one from 1971.
The production on the record is very crisp!

Flotsam & Jetsam "Hard On You"
In the face of all the progressive stuff that has been posted in this thread so far (my picks included ;D) - just a straightforward thrash metal track, but it's kept me under its spell since the initial release of "No Place For Disgrace" in '88. Quite underrated album, and I keep waiting for it to be released as a remastered version, because the original production doesn't give it justice :)
Oh, and back in the day - thrash metal band covering Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting"? Those guys surely had balls! :)
I also happen to love the lyrics, which inspired this thingy: Art Femina #1 / Hard on You :) |

I just had to - sorry, I promise to shut up for the next 50 days :)
These are 51 tracks that "what-Randall-said-in-the-first-post". I'm just such a complete sucker for heavy metal acoustic intros, and this is my tribute to them :)

Thanks Linus, tlr... Gentle Giant and Yes could have come from my list :-)
Which brings me to something a bit different... didn't find the studio version, so a lofi live vid has to suffice.
Not really 'progressive' but at least playing a bit with 'timing dropouts' :-)... actually I like a few of their songs.
