Event id #2396 : Je suis #Drax music compo
Welcome all dear copycats! It's our second meeting ;) This time only 3 weeks for entries - should be enough.
Compo's premise is as simple as that:
You have to create a tune which imitates Drax's trademark sounds and ideas. Seems simple but it's not :D
First rule is - Drax himself cannot participate! Naturally, he can vote for all contestants.
Second rule is - contestants cannot use any worktunes by Drax, neither from his example tunes nor from any other source - make it from scratch, fuckers! :D
Last rule is - it's by no means a remix compo. Composers have to at most recreate typical harmonies, sounds and flavours but in brand new composition on their own.
If you need to analyze his tunes bit by bit with aid of SidDump and similar tunes - your call but doing it by ear is far more creative ;)
Apart from that all composers have total freedom regarding entries' number, playtime, speed, editor, executability etc. - all in all it shall be judged by the people and results will be based on Drax's CSDb vote and other CSDb votes ;) In addition, SuperNoise will play all entries for RiverWash 2015 audience who will vote on paper. Those votes will count as well.

only Drax can do Drax tunes, only Jammer can do Jammer tunes, only Hein can do Hein tunes, etc etc... that is my point indeed. But if people have fun with a compo like this, then I don't mind that ofcourse. ;) |

Well, I have great fun forging someone else's style and even failing at it :P I guess that was main reason behind such compo idea :D |

So why not rephrase those words I got to hear, being off the topic but whilst listening to what you guys say:
When Joe is Joe, Censor is not Censor and Hoaxers is not Hoaxers translated from a very dazed kid.
Keep on rocking. Whoever you are, using someone elses clothes one day or not ;)

Yeh well, maybe a 'je suis #Joe graphics compo' next time? How fearfull for most of us to confront those high expectations. :) |

Seems like brilliant idea. You take care of it, I presume? ;) There was JSL tribute compo which turned out very nice. However, rules weren't too precise whether people should just draw Johan or forge his style :D I really loved WEC's effort. |
