Release id #47128 : Fuck of M$
Are these four wired pictures even scene releases? As far as I can tell they are just plain image conversions done with one of the available tools out there.
It's always nice to see new sceners, but *some* effort and creativity is needed - you have to at least *try*.

Those aint even good conversions.
Maybe a category or rather box "wired" for such gfx-entries would work? You cant decide what to ban and what to just let go. Im ok with i.e. masterpieces as a form of demonstration.
What about all those recent gfx-releases last winter? All due to Timanthes, P1 etc. Conversion, "hand"pixeled or not - they sure cant be compared to pre 90 stuff... Also, they are "wired" technically.
It's all a bad blur in my eyes. Those here are on the extreme side though..
It's not about wiring or not. If someone takes a photo or paints something in photoshop and then tweaks it to look good after wiring, it can still be an original and interesting piece of C64 art. What tools you use doesn't matter.

enthusi: nah dont blame timanthes or p1, if you have an eye for c64 gfx, you'll point out what was wired and what was hand pixeleddw with eyes closed :) last years gfx boom was definitly pure handjob. |

Wired Gfx are a dead giveaway.. To release a wired graphic piece as a release is not on. anyone can just press a button and create 1000 releases per day.
If the graphic is part of a demo, then fair enough, there is nothing wrong in that, but as a single gfx release?? |

Since these pictures are so obviously wired, the guy is not trying to fool us or something. True, a waste of precious data-space but I fail to realise the big fuss about it. |

In a broader perspective it shows why anarchy doesn't work.
There are clear rules: No Protovision stuff :D |

id rather say they and discussing them are a waste of time, to call it a waste of data-space in nowaydays data unit sizes is complete nonsense |

Yeah, discussing this is a waste as well, but Rough, multiple 30-40k with every hit on those things and we'll have quite a few megs of completely wasted bandwith... Not exactly a nonsense as long you have to pay for it. :) |

The fuss is because Thunder.Bird posted those 4 pics as news to c64.sk and I think people who are irritated about it are right. It's a crap not worth news at all. |
