This is the Thread for everything NUFLI!
The Era of NUFLI has begun - Bye Bye Interlace!
So what do you guys think? 8)
btw. Until Bitbreaker decides the converter is fit for release, you may send me your pictures and I'll put them through it. No, I won't fix the bugs for you (been doing that for over a hundred hours in the recent months! <:-), you gotta learn your way around the editor eventually if you want that extra edge of perfection - But I will offer some advice on different approaches how to combat teh blockiness or teh color lack, i even prepared some tutorials I will post here later! ;-)
Please do keep in mind that even in NUFLI, you still only have 3 colors horizontally in every char -with one fixed for 6 chars- (5 or 6 in the FLIbug, but that's for all 3 chars!). Considering that IFLI has a maximum of 6 colors in one char, it's quite surprising the pictures in the Slideshow come over so well, but apparently most people don't use IFLIs capabilities to the full extent - and then there's the horizontal PAL colorblur, which means many different colors don't actually make so much sense after all, since you can't distinguish all the colors so well anyway! |

Quote: We're waiting for Yago to Finish The Win/Linux GUI. The cli Version Works now and The mac GUI by mrsid has been finished for ages. Tbh, i'd feel a Bit like i made an Ass of myself if we released sth that was MacOS only, it would essentially no better than all The PPL releasing win-only tools.. The cli version Works though in all posix-compliant environments. So if that was sufficient for ppl, we could release it right now! So what is The general opinion? Release cli+mac-GUI or wait for yago?
It's quite simple: Release what you have and release more when you have that. No need to put everything into a big package with golden wrapper paper and the whole shit. :)

Well, I'm linux only (by choice, not religion) and wouldnt mind at all if a linux version is late.
Better late than never and its always good not to rush a GUI as well (Go!Go!Go, yaGo!). So when MAC/WIN are done: shoot ;-)
And great initiative to care for the three big ones! |

@Deekay: Now, after BluREU has proven the converter's quality (i cannot imagine you did manual postproduction within the c64-nufli editor on every ~500 nufli animation frames) it is really time to release the converter. PLEASE! :) |

Conspiracy theorists might start to suggest that maybe the editor wasn't likely to be released until after X... of course I would never insinuate such a thing. ;-) |

There was an article in a Dutch newspaper today about the c64 and gaming. It was mainly an interview with the guy from Chronosoft, but there was also a mention of NUFLI! (the way it was written it looked like NUFLI was invented by Chronosoft though :D -> So now the truth behind the identity of Crossbow is finally revealed through excellent Dutch journalism!!)
I'll scan it tomorrow and provide a link. |
