Sprites in bottom-border on NTSC
How many lines of sprites can be displayed below the visible screen on an NTSC C64, when top/bottom border is removed? Does the displaying "wrap" around in some way or is there really only 8 lines of display (as the number of lines would indicate) past the visible screen?

I got the impression somewhere that the first few rasterlines are at the bottom of the screen as the top does not 0. I could be wrong. the VIC Article might have this too.
I will say I wish NTSC had an extra few lines at the bottom to make it easier to NTSC fix a diskmag I've coded :)
I have no idea how accurate the NTSC emulation of CCS64 and VICE 1.9 is in regard to this. |

I better add that I have never seen or used a real NTSC setup :) |

I eventually settled the matter by not expanding the border at all :) Gets messy with Y-scrolling and spritemultiplexing combined. |

I'd have to say if you're using a monitor, you can get away with almost an entire row of unexpanded sprites in the bottom border on NTSC. If you're using a TV though, it could be considerably less. I've also had some TV's that chop off the top row of chars! lame huh?
Of course, this is just my perception, on my particular NTSC setups :)
