Release id #136644 : Rambones' Contacts 85-88
Deleted, too much private data. On Csdb entries ppl can remove/edit infos one doesn't want to be public. |

Agreed. Besides, it's not a valid release. |

Especially phone-numbers are a bad thing. Some of my contacts used to have my parents' phone-number which is still valid today! |

This opens up an interesting question, what about the legions of diskmags that include information that could be deemed private now?
Also, tons of these hack/phreak files contain private details about people. |

dont go into that moloch..
its how scene is..
it snot secret, its same as putting add in paper with full name and adresss, to get a job or something.
a text ripper can easy unpack all demos, and copy out addresses hidden in ram... it was the way, to make sure, that only demomakers could find out an adress.
lamers knew nothing, about the scene hiding inside the games and demos..
from what i heard it was flash or danish crackers, who put their address in the BAM sector, to initiate the contacts. |

I'm not concerned about it, but I know from posts on that "release" of yours that others are. |

some self proclaimed know-it-all who is now banned here for good reason actually had the nerve to call my parents on a phone# he digged out of a mag from 25+ years ago and asked them for my current phone/address - thank god i have trained them for this sort of thing and they told him to fuck off. |

Diskmags are a bit of a different thing compared to the "release" of this topic, since people sent their contact information to the mags willingly (and still do, with current mags). If some moron would want to somehow abuse that information, then, well, it takes all kinds, but personally I feel it's overthinking and not something that should be concerned about.
(that portal there on the other hand, that's something that shouldn't exist; who in their right mind would even come up with an idea of such a thing for the web?!) |

speaking about disk mags - i actually got (more than one) C&D notice regarding http://magicdisk.untergrund.net/ from ppl complaining about their letters from 25 years ago being online (and eventually deleted them because they have zero value anyway). |

now try a pro test, and track me down by my childhood adress, the rules is no cheat!
see this
Shadows in Pain
via this, and nothing else, call me on the phone.
its forbidden to google my name, you must use only the adress in that demo, to locate my current phone nr and give a call!
so what will you do ?
i became expert in this, from tracking down the old sid composers for 20 years. i found the hidden persons, in thousands of possibles..
give it a try!
you cannot use the internet, you must call somebody and ask around for me. |

lets admit it , viewing old release 27 yrs ago made on c64
(guyz..we are not the center of the world..accept it!)
and than calling or sending (really? still someone use
the old post office to send cards or letters?) is totally wieirdo . ppl who want to contact someone go into FB , not
going into hacking old release and digging in the code hoping to find some "treasure" hehe its funny but nevertheless i respect the insight of Ian to remove the entry which lets be honest not a demo or a most value release by far , more as a nostalgic release (like swappers note, msg me notes and alike) |
