Event id #784 : Assembly 2004

W.t.f. are there scener names instead of group names behind the demo names?

Graphics I understand, I was not referring to that. But isn't it possible to have a group as the creator of a mixed entry? Or does it automatically take the list of credits for that entry?

Yes. But in this case, wouldn't it be more logical to put the asm'04 demos in the "C64 Demo" category instead of "Mixed"? Coz it WAS a demo-only-competition. (it was not gfx,mzx,demo,... mixed together) Or?

As far as i understand the graphics and music was also mixed with other oldschool platforms aswell at asm'04, so it was all kind a' mixed.

Maybe you should have a 'mixed demo' category as well, where you could take the group as the creator?

Off topic but still: hopefully we'll release something on the X, still don't bet any large sums of money on it.

Well, "Mixed" was actually intended for compos which had mixed *releasetypes*.

If there is a demo-only compo where the *platforms* are mixed, the idea is that they should go in the "C64 Demo" category, but ONLY the demos for the C64-platform ofcause.
(the non-C64 stuff should just be left out)

So there shouldn't be any need for a "Mixed Demo" category

An example of a "real" mixed compo:
Mail Madness Party 4

I agree, this might not be clear.
(But yeah, maybe we can write group-names for demo-entries in mixedcompos)

I just fixed the code so that in Mixed compos only music and graphic type releases will have the sceners as "by".
The rest (demos etc.) will have the group-name as "by" - if there are any group.

An example of this can be seen in the link given by CyberBrain above.

Sure, way off topic. Focus demo, that's good to hear, after all you have JT and Sander, that's quite a line up :) ...i bet it's a 1 parter, like for time waster for instance (quite cool, although Doolittle remains my fav Focus demo).

We have more people than just JT & Sander, another lost son just returned to the fold .. you may have seen him posting quite a lot here recently :)

Plus most people here don't know about our secret weapon (Ben), who's one hell of a coder. Our line-up still is quite strong, too bad about our inability to actually finish something. But if we do, I doubt it will be something like Doolittle. Or Timewaster for that matter.

Ben? ...is he new to 64? - it all sounds good anyway. And what about you, do you still code?

Ben used to call himself Anorganic, was part of the Paradize crew that released such good demos in the early 90's and joined Focus about, oh, 10 years ago :) He was 'lost' for a while though, returned a few years back.

As for me, I still have 1 or 2 parts left in me, but as I've begun work on one of them 3 years ago (actually it was meant to be our X2001 contribution) I guess you can say I'm not really coding these days ..

I think there is a slight confusion what a "Mixed" competition is. Someone maybe thought that "Mixed" means "Multiplatform" but to me it means a competition where graphics, musics and demos compete.
