You're absolutely free to use whatever tricks you wish. The main point of this compo is the composition anyway. |

I just hope stereo SIDs are *not* allowed as they do not run on unmodified hardware. Anything like that should have an own separate compo imho. |

Running on Vanilla c64 should always be a requirement for SID compos unless specifically stated otherwise. Else you might as well hand in FM expansion tunes as well. Not really fair comparison

That being said, there should be a separate CSDB category for music that requires modified hardware or external extensions. Might as well hand in mp3s and play them via REU. |

No restrictions were specified hence for me story ends here - it's entirely up to Karmic ;) |

Not that I'm gonna try, but stereo digi Sids sounds legit to me. |

Hello there,
I just released a piece for this compo: Harder Times
The opening section comprises a cycle of 2x bars of 5/8 then 1x bar of 4/8 - this 4/8 bar disrupts the regularity of the 5/8 without establishing itself - I hope you're all OK with that...! The rest of the piece is in 7/8 until the closing accents.
I know that my submission isn't really in the same league as the offerings by LMan and Jammer, particularly in terms of sound design (this is something I'm eager to work on!!), but I hope you can find something to like in it. Cheers! |

Glad I waited until *after* releasing my own entry before listening to the other entries - it might have gone back in the folder of forgotten files - what a great set of tunes, just like in 2017 and 2016!
Hope to see the compo return in 2019 with even more entries. |

Mh. Is it over already? Page states 23rd, text says 24th.
Still miss some of the "usual suspects" :-) |

Time's up, here's the votesheet:
https://goo.gl/forms/bDaKY5ymdv9dANIq2
You have until the end of March 31st CET to vote.
Next compo I'll add another restriction "must be playable in a SID file" to handle those complaints. No FM expansion and definitely no REU. |

Not filling out everything wasn't accepted by the form. I just voted 1 on my tunes instead. |

There's only one entry that does not also have a .sid file. These lazy bums should stop complaining and just boot their C64 or Vice instead. |

1.0 surround, surely!
(or perhaps 3.1 - one channel per voice, plus volume offset..) |

Only 5 responses? I'll extend voting to the end of April 7 CET and then just take what I have then. |

I guess the problem is, with so many compos running here using the CSDb votes, people on CSDb don't expect "external" vote-sheets and missed the info. Also the release flood has been a bit overwhelming lately ;-) |

Exactly. I'd count CSDB votes too and blend them with your votesheet. |

Number of votes per entry on CSDb so far:
release id name number of votes
----------- -------------------------- ---------------
162720 Monofail 32
162646 OdDnB 32
163172 Plarp! 13
162763 AfD Kaputt Schlagen - TOT 12
162759 Gypsophila 11
162839 Slipper 7
162914 Harder Times 7
163082 In Ruhe 1 Abseilen 6
It seems only Monofail and OdDnB have received a fair amount of votes on CSDb.
@Karmic:
I will give your googlesheets a chance and vote later today or tomorrow. |

Whole compo sadly drowned among surrounding events :( You apparently have to remind people more directly. I shamefully forgot to vote via form so thanks for extending voting deadline :) |

Thanks for the voting deadline extension Karmic, I completely forgot. Will submit later today or sometime tomorrow, this is hard.
Also, *bump*. There are some quality entries here, please to be voting, people!
(and thanks for the youtube playlist Xiny6581. easiest way to flip between them, seek back and forth, etc) |

Congratulations on the win LMan! And thanks to everyone else for the exciting nonstandard time sig listening. I'm totally OK with coming last here since my effort was in the company of some great tunes, but still, I'll be trying for a better position next time... ;) |
