Group id #3679 : SAW
Can we stop this nonsense yet? Wanderer has, according to his entry here on the CSDb, "left the scene" and this fued has become a bore.
I could care less if you guys bicker day and night in the forums, but when you start dumping your garbage into the database I take exception. Please knock it off.

Please take note.
The SAW entry has been put up purely to put an end to this nonsense.
No SAW demo will be released.
The entry stands for itself.
Thanks. |

"The SAW entry has been put up purely to put an end to this nonsense."
The entry itself IS nonsense.
You know, for folks who are most likely in their late twenties or older, the lot of you are incredibly immature.
I would be embarassed to see my five year old behave this way. To see supposedly grown men indulge in lame rag wars like it is still 1988 is beyond the pale... and I mean EVERYONE involved in this episode (Sorry Wanderer, but despite our cordial discussions you are not immune to this criticism).
So knock this crap off, kill that bogus group entry and let's move on.

I haven't taken part in it. Your silly little grudge / war with Wanderer is of no consequence to me.
However, SAW is a new entry in the database made today. Apparently you guys will form in two weeks or so on April 1st during a meeting in Bangledesh. There you will hold some sort of C=64 party and come up with a long list of slogans for your group, but not actually release anything. Sounds like a plan.
Whatever. I am asking you to remove your steaming feces pile from the database. It is smelling up the joint. It is a mockery of what the CSDb is, and in turn it mocks the ACTUAL EFFORT I and others have made contributing real entries.
I hope beyond hope that you understand that. Perhaps not. Perhaps you two are beyond hope in your rage against some guy you know nothing about other than what you read on the screen. If this is the case, you have my pity.

Oh God, please tell me you aren't for real. You are absolutely right. My whole Ninjasbane alter ego is all the brainchild of Wanderer. Just ask the folks I helped out finding their old releases, like The Shark of INC (Under the nym of APFelon, my usual Internet nick) and Core.
Man, I stepped in the middle of a mongloid fight.

Well, I'm not going to play dumb while they bring this shit in to the CSDb. If they want to have funtime in monkeyland in the forums, let them. When they bring this nonsense in to the CSDb, these two and I are going to have some issues to resolve.
Or maybe I'll just walk away and stop contributing after I delete all of my entries I punched in to the CSDb. Purging several hundred entries might take a bit of work, but I don't want my efforts associated with something that folk'll treat as a joke.

No, the only joke is this group.
I totally think he has a point. people like him, Zyron and many many others try to build this database. This group is nothing. it polutes the csdb.
Come on man, we used to be contacts remember? You must be grown up enough to see that this nonsense makes other people sad. I aint taking no sides in the discussion between you and WDR, but he left, according to himself.
You are a sensible guy, so why not end this now?
Delete the group, and everybody will forget this, which is all we want i guess.
Please listen to Ninjasbane, and no, he aint wanderer, he is just someone putting effort in this great database and sick of the nonsense put in here.
I am personally sick of it too. and i guess a lot of others too.

[ Too much nitrous oxide on the brain error ]
Let me see if I get this straight.
You want to END this "nonsense" so you create a group of malicious intent and downvote my release without downloading it first. Your own words admit you did it "out of spite".
Spite is defined as "an urge to hurt or humiliate". Yes, it sounds like you are living life large Damian.
That is not how you end it Damian. That is how you deal with your anger when you find out I'm leaving the scene and you will no longer be able to exchange your hateful words. You now realize I will not be reading or viewing any of your future hate projects. Come on man, 15 minutes to turn 3 games into one fun little game that meant no harm, you need to let go of your issues. Seriously :)
Ninjasbane said it best. There are those on here who contribute to CSDB. I've caused a few controversies but I am also an uploading madman. I have a long list of releases behind my name.
What does Slarti do for CSDB? I dare say he complains and feels victimized. There's no excuse not to see a release from him.
Stash has no skill and his presence on CSDB is really a question of why? (There were ghosts for sure. Three of us all took turns, you never knew who you were speaking with)
I wish you and SAW the best of luck :) I hope one day you can be rid of those 'spiteful' and 'hateful' feelings you've admitted you own. Please seperate them from CSDB though. |

Hey Stash, Indeed long time no see.
And i understand why you are upset with WDR. But look at it like this: if you and slarti (and everyone else for that matter) ignored what WDR does then this will just fade... Same goes for WDR, if he ignores you and Slarti it is the same.
I just want this to end. people are getting sick of this.
So why not all take the 'mature' way and ignore eachother :)
Makes a whole lot nicer csdb i think :)
and ps. remember i am not taking sides in this. I just someone should say something to back up the one who started this thread :) |

...and here we go again. No offence Mike, but your input was completely counterproductive. I say that with all due respect for everything you have done for the scene, but at this moment I am concerned with the here and now and resolving this issue.
Look, all I want to do here is help build a memorial to my friends, contacts, and people I have never met. Despite them being nothing but a voice over the telephone, many of these people helped influence me and dare I say mold me during my teenage years (and kept me out of Real Life (tm) trouble to boot).
So I'd like the CSDb to be as "pure" as possible. I'd like my small sliver of it to be a tribute to friends and groups that brought me so much joy when I was fifteen years old. I'd like to pay my respects to not only the sceners who are still here or released tons of software and demos, but the sceners who are no longer involved with the C64 or were "behing the scenes" staying up late at night running software from the high end BBSes to the medium and low level BBSes or releasing software that was overlooked by the major cracking groups. Despite the fact that they (or should I say WE) were never greeted in any meaningful way, never paid attention to by the "elites" and never quite "made it" to noteriety in the scene, their efforts are the reason collections like mine even exist.
And THAT, my friends, is why I am here. Despite the fact that I had three notebook pages full of contacts, I have never bumped in to any of them online. They have moved on, and if I weren't so damned nostalgic and melancholy by nature I would have too.
Perhaps I should add "foolish" to that list as well. Nostalgic, melancholy and damned foolish. I ragged myself out when I was a member of Vendetta and have since grown up. I no longer play with children nor do I play like a child. I have a very low tolerence threshhold for bullshit, and my friends, you are piling it on.
I am not going to tolerate this for very long. I have no qualms about "taking my ball home with me" and I won't give it a second thought after I do.
So, the three of you, knock this shit off NOW.

You don't have to "do anything" and you don't have to "prove anything", because you don't have anything to prove in the first place. Much better English by the way, congrats whoever you are.
So WHAT can you do for CSDB? Another Gunnar demo - of course - a fake demo made by stoners and was ridiculed :)
Laszlo, you are a nobody on the 64. How you sleep is irrelevant. Your messages are poorly composed, poorly thought out, and you do nothing to help the 64. At best you could upload something, at worst you could learn to code.
You are merely a wart on the ass of the 64, of no use to anybody and easily missed.
So I use a lot of handles on here? hehe, wait, you're also the guy who said my game was entirely ripped code. The village idiot has turned prophet ;)
A stoner who can't do a single thing for the 64, fantazzzzztico. :D

@Ninja: you will never find total peace and love on here, so do what you have to do and simply ignore the crap. To come on here, inject yourself into a long-running matter and demand people stop simply because you ask, is probably not gonna happen.

Ah, Wanderer... Dramas are so hard to walk away from, aren't they? Things would have been so much different if you had just sat on your hands on this one. Maybe kept your commitment of leaving the "scene", for what it is, for at least a week. So simple. <p>

Well you're right that it's not hard to walk away from. Any one of us could have, at any given time.
It is of interest to point out, that between yesterday and today, I signed on to CSDB to find Mr. Caynes had created a group against me, added himself and Stash as members and added me as an attendee.
He did this in the name of 'ending' things. Simon of course thinks this is perfectly normal behaviour.
The surest way to end things, with a scener who's leaving the scene anyways, is of course, to make a group about them (violation of rules #1), add me to it (violation #2), and add me back to it after I remove myself from it (violation #3).
Clue in --> Damian doesn't want to end anything. He wants his 'vengeance' and 'retribution' knowing that I'm leaving and he will be forced to deal with his anger on his own. Just yesterday he admitted to being "spiteful" in downvoting, apparently that wasn't enough and he needed to create a group as well.
All of that was unprovoked.
Now if it was me creating a group, Simple Simon would be all over me but of course when Damian creates fake groups, it goes ignored. I've never once said I needed retribution, or said I was hateful or made physical threats. Clearly Slarti needs to fix his brainpan. :)
And Stash, everyone has internet nowadays. We don't need swappers, you are obsolete and have been for a long time now. That is still no excuse for not learning something new. You've had 15 years to learn to do something on the 64, instead you are The Great Forum Poster.
>I don't think I have met a larger collection of hard
>headed, childish individuals in all my days.
There's this cool feature called Ignore, it works great in the absence of self-control.

Really? Great! How do I ignore bogus entries to the CSDb?
Should I ignore the discussion on a thread I created, or is that bad form? Should I ignore former elite NTSC coders who claim to have quit the scene, or expatriated Eastern Europeans who live in Sweden? Maybe an Aussie or two? Oh please guide me.

Actually, to be honest, I have no idea why Slarti added this group. Perhaps just to prove to you that you find it impossible to walk away without having the 'last word'? I really dont know.
Either way, for the 6th time - arent you leaving? Why do you care what slarti adds or doesnt add? Im sure if he's violating rules, Perff will knock it on the head quick smart. I guess an argument could be made that SAW is a scene thing and should be recorded here (there's quite an impressive list of names as far as Im aware), adding you to it is probably pushing a point though.
Why do you still care? Arent you meant to be jetting off to some fake conference concerning your fake career anyway?

Ninja: Your point is taken and the admins will look into this. True, it is an abuse of CSDB and it does violate the new rules. It's just Damian's way of coping with his pent up anger and emotions. Mr. "I need retribution" continues to prove I'm inside his head.
==================
Damian may remember these words of his, only 3 days old:
"This is a very serious issue. The sooner such abuse stops, the less severe the penalty from the relevant authorities will be."
Make up your mind Damian; you're either a poor victim or an instigator - but you can't be both. You also said, "This is no laughing matter". You're right, it isn't. So why did you go and do something to instigate and provoke? Are you really that incapable of dealing with your emotions?
======================
And for Magic Card boi... anyone on here who logged on to see a group and event about themselves would care. It's common sense, not even you can be that dumb. When I leave is my concern, not yours.
Oh, not to fear I'll have plenty of digital pics of Adelaide to show when I return :)

The discrepancy in Mastercard and Confirmation invoice is because I don't pay full airfare. We get a corporate rate of which I'm expected to pay a portion.
It's sad to see three people have nothing to talk about but me. I hope when I return that you've gotten it out of your system *s*.
I can say though that it's 4:00AM and I have to leave for the airport now. Be good to one another :)

Bodies in barrels sentence appeal
By NICK HENDERSON
11mar06
MARK Ray Haydon, the man convicted of assisting in some of the Snowtown bodies-in-the-barrels murders, has launched an appeal against his 25-year jail sentence claiming it was "manifestly excessive".
Haydon was jailed for 25 years last month, with an 18-year non-parole period, for helping John Justin Bunting, Robert Joe Wagner and James Spyridon Vlassakis.
Haydon helped the three men by storing bodies in barrels in his shed and being a co-lessee on the Snowtown bank vault where barrels were found in 1999.
