Group id #904 : Crossline
In A-Head #3 it is mentioned that a certain Iceman joined Crossline.
If we presume he's from Germany, like the group, it could be either Iceman or Iceman.
Anyone who knows for sure?
Same article mentions a Fireball who became a member of Crossline.
Might that have been Fireball, or was that another Fireball? |

I don't know, which Iceman might have been member of Crossline, but it is this Fireball, not the other one, who was a member. See also the fake demo release Born in the Mouth of Lameness, where he did the charset. Just added him to the record... |

Thanks for the input.
Now let's find the right Iceman... |

I just read greetings to an Iceman in Plush's +H2K demo. I suppose this is the same guy, but, however, this doesn't help us either...
Hell yeah, I really should remember my group mates, although I never met this one...
But you see, I'm already doing active research work. ;-) |

The Iceman in the Plush demo is almost certainly Iceman, considering the credits of his demo from 2000.
...given the fact that he is the only Iceman active in 2000. |

I contacted Iceman (ex-WOW) to shed some light on the issue. But I also assume it was him. |

Ah, email not valid anymore. :-( Maybe some WOWer can help out, or somebody from Plush who greeted the guy? |

iceman/ex-wow is living in the same city as me and we have been in good contact back then. i can't remember that he ever has been in crossline and i think he would have told me. what i know for sure is that he had friends in plush. i'm not in contact to him anymore, so i can't ask him, but maybe there's an other way to find out. |

Yeah, in retrospect, I don't see the connection between Crossline and Plush.
What's the logic behind the fact that the Iceman greeted by Plush is the same as the one who was a member of Crossline? :) |

Mace, you are right. Probably the only connection is that both are Germany based groups. But since both Icemen (does the use of the english plural apply in this case? ;-)) are from Germany, I agree, there is no point in my argumentation. It was just so funny for me to watch the +H demo and see the handle I was talking about an hour ago...
But didn't A-Head #3 say anything about in which funtion the ominous Iceman joined Crossline? |

I would check out their diskmagazine zoom #1 & #2, around the same time that a-head was released. so probably he will be either in the news, memberstatus and hopefull addycorner with his real name... |

Ok, checked out Zoom #1.
There is no Iceman mentioned as a member of Crossline but in the addy corner there is a Iceman/Trans-X called Ingo Rubel from Witten/Germany. There is also a remark "Legal Swap" so I would doubt, that it is Iceman (Mace's suggestion #2) who was a cracker with PLK address. The other Icemen in the CSDb don't seem to match either, so I think, this is yet another Iceman for the CSDb... *sigh*
And no, although I strongly suppose, that this guy is the Iceman in question, there is no logic behind my assumption. ;-)
Zoom #2 didn't work with my emulator. Maybe someone else can check it out? |

I found in Skyhigh #7 (October 1993), that Iceman/Crossline left the scene.
That's why there's no member of Crossline called Iceman in Zoom #2: the mag is from Summer 1994.
In Skyhigh #10 it's mentioned that Iceman/Trans-X was kicked out for ripping tunes. That's March 1994.
However, in Skyhigh #20 it seems he's back in Trans-X again...
I doubt (again) it's the same person. |
