Handle id #9970 : Antisoft
My impression while looking through cracks is that those done by Antisoft (ABC) and those by Antisoft Inc. are from two different people. |

I know its a while since you posted this topic, but I checked a few of the releases and I think Antisoft and Antisoft Inc. is the same person
If you take a look at Blade Runner from Antisoft Inc. the sysline is "1999 SYS2088 ANTISOFT INC.".
1999 were alos the number of the sysline ABC used
Another example is Friday The 13th where the sysline is "0 SYS(2080) ANTISOFT INC." - theres plenty of ABC releases using the sysline "0 SYS(2080)"

After some more study theres a few extra notes to add to this
There's cracks from Antisoft who also were in ABC and he did the stuff from Antisoft Inc. (In some of the cracks he greets other dutch sceners)
Then there's some of the cracks where you can find the text Antisoft Norway. One example is Star Command - another is Mr. TNT
I havn't found a way to seperate those cracks

More confusion
The Antisoft (without Inc.) mainly uses this BASIC line:
Maybe it's the other way round and Antisoft Inc. is the ABC guy, while Antisoft is someone without connection to ABC. |

Antisoft Inc. uses the acronym ASI in this release: Frank Bruno's Boxing [tape/disk]
Frank Bruno's Boxing, which he did two weeks or so after ABC's one: Frank Bruno's Boxing . He is definitely the Antisoft linked with ABC, he mentions them in the intro. |

One thing to be sure of now: the Antisoft with the SYS-line as seen in post #5 is from Holland - see The Castles of Doctor Creep, which has the same SYS-line and a Dutch depack-text. |

According to an interview with Joost Honig (Honey/1001 Crew), Antisoft is a.k.a. Steve/1001 Crew. He joined 1001 Crew in 1985.

Have a look at my comment in this thread
http://csdb.dk/forums/?roomid=12&topicid=95171#95263
and then undo this merge of Antisoft/ABC and Steve/1001 as it is wrong.
Thx!

This one must be from the non-ABC Antisoft. But I can ask Steve about this. |

Please do.
By quickly looking on some releases on the Antisoft page I get the feeling that everything from 1985 using the acronym ASI is from Steve, especially the intros have quite a 1001 touch about them. That would make The Scrolls of Abadon one of ACS' last releases before forming ABC, and Bruce Lee one of CSS' last releases (both from Nov 1984) and Tornado Low Level one of the first ABC cracks. From this point on it seems they more or less stopped using their handles in the cracks. |

We found the full release of Max Headroom with that intro.
Max Headroom
It says that the intro was written by Steve, time to merge
Antisoft & Steve !

Once again... Have a look at my statement in the other thread
http://csdb.dk/forums/?roomid=12&topicid=95171#95263
And so no need for merging the profile of Steve/1001 with Antisoft/ABC Crackings. He just named himself Antisoft 'til he noticed that Antisoft was already used by a member of ABC Crackings. And this are the words of Steve/1001 himself.
Greetz!

Skylab, you don't understand it.
We are talking about creating a new Antisoft Inc. scener and put all the releases of Antisoft Inc (ASI) in there so the entries of Antisoft Inc and Antisoft/ABC are not mixed as one entry anymore.
We then link/merge Steve/1001 with the new Antisoft Inc.
We only need to find out which release belongs to which Antisoft.
We should make a list of entries where we are unsure about and perhaps you can then ask Steve about confirmation.
Btw, in the Max Headroom release, Steve mentions his previous handles, namely ACS and ASI. Where does ACS stand for? |

And we have it here:
Antisoft Inc.
Are we sure that Steve/Antisoft = Antisoft Inc (ASI)? Then we can add that here and remove it from the ABC Antisoft.
EDIT: Just saw your post, Fred, so I took the first step of cleaning out.
EDIT2: Was Steve already a 1001 member under the Antisoft/ASI/ACS handle? |

bugjam, no Steve joined The 1001 Crew in the beginning of 1986 and didn't use his old handle for the 1001 Crew AFAIK.
The Street Hawk release proofs that TSI, Syz and Antisoft Inc (ACS) didn't join 1001 Crew before April 1986 if you look at the greetings. When they joined, they stopped putting them in the greetings.
Also an interview with Honey confirms that they joined 1001 Crew in 1986.
One of the last cracks of Antisoft Inc at CSDb is from 15 December 1985.
The intro from Antisoft Inc was rebranded to 1001 in 1986 for the release of Empire! and Max Headroom |

I found some proof now that Antisoft Picture is by ACS. See the scroll text in Border Letter II
So Steve returned back to the C64 in May 1986 and joined 1001 again.
In the scroll text they say: "So I heard that the digitized picture of the funny head from ACS has reached you ... Because the 520 ST wasn't available at the moment he's now returned to us ... Welcome back Steve !!!" |

I've uploaded a lot of cracks now from Antisoft this week, that came from a pack from Mason. Thanks Mason!
Today I've also created a seperated scener for Antisoft from Norway.
It's now clear how to sort Antisoft from Norway, Antisoft from The Netherlands and Antisoft Inc. cracks.
Antisoft Inc. (who later joined the 1001 Crew):
- when "Antisoft Inc." string is in the SYS line or in the game title screen.
- or when ASI or ACS is in the SYS line or in the game title screen.
- or when it has an ASI intro.
Antisoft from Norway:
- when it has "Antisoft Oslo Norway" in the binary.
- or when it has the SYS line address between brackets and not the "Antisoft" string in brackets.
Antisoft from The Netherlands (who later founded ABC):
- when it has the "Antisoft" string between brackets and not the SYS line address.
- or when it has "(CR) Antisoft" in the title screen.
- or when it has in the binary multiple "ANTISOFTANTISOFT" etc. strings.
I've still a few releases left to upload and I need to go through all the Antisoft releases again to double check the above rules.

And by which one is this: Motocross? Or is this just the cruncher? |

It's by Antisoft Norway since the SYS address is between brackets and the binary also has the text: "made by Antisoft Oslo Norway 1984"
I've added the credits and set the year now. |

Adding info in the trivia of each Antisoft on how to tell them apart would be useful. |
