Release id #191845 : Justice
This demo gave me a controversial message.
I know that U.S. police brutality has once more exceeded, but let's not make that guy an hero, he was a delinquent and should have been arrested and he resisted to the police, so they had to use force.
Quoting wikipedia in case my fact checking seems off:
"The arrest was made after Floyd was accused of using a counterfeit $20 bill at a market. Police said Floyd physically resisted arrest"
Also I support the civil protest, but nobody has the right to take this as an excuse to riot and devastate public properties like the black people are doing in these days, those are delinquents that should be picked by force and jailed. |

I have mixed feelings about it. The intro scroll and text page was meaningful but the second part is a bit messy. I like the sentiment of it, maybe not so much the delivery.

This looks like a psy-op to me. The murder was filmed with a cell-phone, the arrest of the black reporter who was documenting the riots happened live on TV, as the camera was left turned on all the time (on purpose?), there are reports about policemen infiltrating the mob and doing most of the destruction etc. |

I think it's great a C64 release can take a stand.
I only wonder whether some C64 release will get postponed now, accompanied with a message like "Now is not the time" or "C64 releases aren't important now" :) |

Keep this discussion to the release in question. Your own political views on what's happening in USA etc. can move to IRC or your FB-page. |

The demo is called "Justice", not "Hero".
Are you saying you would have preferred it to include a part explaining that, had a policeman not knelt on his neck for nine minutes (several of which he was motionless with no pulse), George Floyd may have been charged with the crime of attempting to use a fake $20 bill?
Would that have made the demo less "controversial"?
And what about the other people mentioned? |

I'm glad I live in a bit less idiotic part of the world that was not (completely) "founded on slavery and genocide".
Also, I never expected a 2006 movie (Idiocracy) will mature to documentary so soon. |
