Event id #3083 : Our friend , TMR

as I "hinted" at in a previous thread, I'd like to have a co-op demo put out , for what would have been TMR's 50th birthday. He was really "anti-birthday" for some reason, so it's a bit of an ironic release.

there aren't any "rules" as such , just make sure it's given in on time to compile (the earlier the better). if you do say 1 or 2 (max) part, that doesn't chew up all the memory ;-) .. with usual space bar code, to jump back to a menu OR the next part.

or if you want to draw a pic etc.

even an petscii (that doesn't mean 5000 of them) .

obviously anything you can email me etc. do not upload it.. so the end demo can be seen as "one thing".

depends how many parts people do to the style of demo e.g. if it is just as parts or with a menu in front.. e.g. like the wwe / trc mega co-op ( Mega-Co Demo )

do something that you would like to see , yourself. I guess would be the easiest way to say it.

Jason, was demo mad, as you know.. so I feel it would be a good thing / apt considering how much he did for the scene over the many years.

cheers.

so the first part is done.. good work. you know who you are =)

ironic some of you can spend more time writing intros for your own groups for games you cracked made by TMR..

would have liked a better response ,so far. to those who contacted me, cheers..

yer you may think i'm a d'head.... but TMR wasn't... thats the point ;-)

even a few bitmaps or petsci's would be nice :p

Have posted this just now on social. Think this message needs to go out wider and maybe some DM to various folk (as a lot of guys miss forums or even CSDb entirely).

Anti-"social media" person here... ;)

I check this place all the time, but in this instance I don't really know what to contribute (other than text for 8-bit legends) ... TMR had his unique way of coding which should be left to those who know how to code the same way. And when it comes to musical tributes, there isn't many songs from him, and which many of them are just remakes of other SIDs/MODs.

Sorry that I can't help chancer, just stating my own opinion on it.

JC, no, CSDb's clearly anti-social medium, Conrad got that perfectly right ;)

place is a bit of a double standard, selective like some sceners.

as I heard someone commenting the other day about a version of a game from *2013* they hadn't played a newer 2021 version , to comment objectively. If they had played a new version , then it would be fair.

it's a pity old pals are busy with life / work / family stuff, I do get that as we have gotten older.

or just the greatest at everything since sliced bread.. except a bit of humility

decided to postpone it for now, due to things going on in private life. I simply can't get enough of it done to be a decent tribute to my old friend.

will appear at a later date when hopefully things are a bit more quiet, london life adds another layer of rubbish to delay me , for starters.

to those who did something, cheers..

others spent longer making excuses not do ;-)
