Quote: I agree with Groepaz and this is also my opinion, that this is C64 scene database. Everything, what's not runnable on C64/C128 should be not uploaded here. Cross software too because it's not a part of real scene.
We're in 2006 now, in case you didn't notice. Your view of what is "the real scene" is pretty displaced, Pawel. The logical consequence of your reasoning would be to also delete all sceners who produce their stuff on emulators or who use crossassemblers and PC tools. Well, just some food for thoughts before that evil-pc-witchhunting starts again. |

The whole HVSC is here as well while it doesn't really belong. |

Thank you for seeing it the same way I do, Stephan! =) |

But their knowledge and tune fixing, etc helps the scene in some way of getting propper versions of damaged sids :) |

Other platform tools are acceptable I think since it's as scene related as f.ex. Turbo Assembler, but a filmed Welle:Erdball gig should not be entered to CSDb imho. |

Well, I know it's a little odd to cram HVSC into the cathegory "music collection". But with GRG's new Realsidplay and recent developments in real C64 .sid players (Soci's IDE64 player, the MMC64, etc.) it has become quite valid, I think. In the end the files are all runnable on a plain 64 if you strip off the header data.

I don't think it's odd, we are in year 2006! :) |

i agree that cross platform tools should be here, afterall they are used to produce things that run on an actual c64. i can also accept things like hvsc, afterall it consists of files which (can be made) run on a c64. there are a bunch of things which arent actual c64 programs, but which still belong here.
BUT - adding videos of something remotely c64 related is a different thing. like i said, whats next? will all W:E songs that were made using a c64 be added? if yes, will links to the actual mp3 be accepted (afterall, this is a _scene_ database). will videos of concerts where sceners played with their band on a scene party be added too? then someelse starts adding remixes? and his friend spots former sceners in realworld music groups and adds all their productions too? this aint gonna stop, and at the end the database will be filled with non scene related crap.
ofcourse - as usual - the admins wont give a damn and this is exactly whats going to happen. sad enough. |

The entry doesn't even have a link anylonger so I guess it could be deleted. |
