c64 gfx seminar in Vienna
This Saturday, 14th Nov 2009: Speckdrumm Demoscene Outreach event in Vienna, featuring Metalvotze (Widdy: GBA-Coding and Nitro: Vectrex-Coding) and Crest (Yours truly: C64 GFX): http://www.speckdrumm.org/Outreach/index.html
The whole point is to tell interested hackers about the Demoscene and how to code weird hardware! ;-) The audience won't be computer-illiterates, don't worry...
Would be cool to see a few c64-people there! :-) |

I was there doing a talk about the early Amiga demoscene last year. Great people, great fun. Make sure you get your ass to the Metalab. Great partyplace! And if you meet Marius of Panoramic Designs (Marius Skogheim), give my regards. |

Marius Skogheim?
CSDB entry states:
Date of Death: 2002
I guess you mean Marius Kintel, a Norwegian friend of mine who lives in Vienna, and hangs out at the Metalab a lot.

Carrion: Too bad. I only decided to go on with Widdy and Nitro on Tuesday, and on Wednesday it was finalized that I will also hold a seminar!... So it couldn't have been that much earlier to announce! ;-) |

Sorrysorrysorry. Total fail on my end, and no disrespect to the deceased intended. Yes, of course I mean the other Marius. I thought he had been active on C64 as well, but turns out he was only on Amiga. This guy: http://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/Panoramic_Designs_(amiga).

It was a really nice, comfy event with a great atmosphere. We partied hard until the early morning about 6am, very interesting and sometimes quite entertaining seminars indeed! 8)
Videos of the seminars will hopefully be online soonish. unfortunately everyone except for abductee held his talk in German (we didn't even know we could do it in English!), so I'm really sorry for you non-germanspeaking interested sceners... |
