A "Terramex" style instrument creation on Goattracker.
Hey everyone! Do you remember the main music theme of the game Terramex, made by Ben Daglish? If you have the SID file, listen solo to the second channel. The instrument has a weird wide flanger style feel. Is it possible to be recreated using Goattracker? |

It's using channels 1&2 and both ringmod and sync to create that sound. Have a look at the "visuals" tab here (set the buffer to as low as possible): https://deepsid.chordian.net/?file=/MUSICIANS/D/Daglish_Ben/Ter.. |

Thank you for the reply. It seemed to me like something with "ring" mode too but since SID players usually cancel the "ring" of the channels when solo (and play them as pure triangle) I wasn't sure. I will check it out. |

I don't think so. I think DJ Space was asking about the lead sound. That is just pulse + vibrato. |

No, I was refering to what Frostbyte replied. I actually listened to the SID file on Acid 64 player PRO just now, which always cancels the ring modulation when playing solo channels (at least with the settings I have), and indeed the second channel plays a triangle that pitches down on every note change. So it's clear to me now. Thank you both! |
