Native Linux GTUltra or similar for tracking?
Is there a native compiled Linux GTUltra or similar for tracking somewhere to be downloaded?
PS. A Linux-noob.
Cheers! |

That's not so easy, because a couple of system libraries of your system and the system the binary is build on have to be compatible / the same.
Which distribution are you on? Maybe I can provide a compatible binary (I have access to Arch Linux and Ubuntu LTS systems).
As an alternative I can offer you to try to walk you through the process of compiling via discord. |

Using Kubuntu on my desktop and Arch on my older laptop, the desktop being the more serious workstation. :)
The compiling is a bit too early for me at this point, switched to Linux just recently so have to get into the workflow of things and find my ways first before digging deeper like that. |

It's unfortunately not very optimised for Linux - does not run very nicely on my (pretty old) laptop. I can't remember but I think it might have better performance with the windows binary under Wine.
Edit: I would suggest using goattracker 2 as native tracker under linux (or SidWizard). |

Thanks for the feedback and yes I was considering going with Wine or Bottles to run it and/or GT2. I'll probably try them both and see which feels best, as long as it works :) |
