Metroid??

I am working on Metroid for the C64 ( http://www.codershangout.com/blogs/metroid ) and would LOVE if someone knows where I might find the music converted to SID. Or, if someone more talented than me (lots) would like to convert it?

The perfect solution would be to try and map the NES original to 2 channels so that I have the 3rd for sfx.

I have the Metroid MIDI's if that would help. I guess worse case I'll have to load the MIDI into some music software and manually try to convert each note with Goattracker or something. I'm not really a music guy. hehehe

Thanks!

Do you want a 1:1 conversation of the songs?

edit: I've checked the NSF file: 12 songs needs to be converted. :)

If the pretensions aren't too high, a nice conversion is easily feasible.

metroid on c64 would definitely be something. i'd even dust off my tv-set for that one.

A 1:1 conversion would rock. But I think the sound effects (jumping, shooting, etc) really add to the game. Could the conversion be done in 2 channels?

C64 NEEDS Metroid...which means it needs the music. :-)

cbmeeks: I think you could get some pretty awesome music support for such a project, once it's become somewhat playable. There are some extraordinary talented musicians around here, whom I'd bet would be willing to share their 2 channel versions of the original tunes - maxed out to meet the full capabilities of the SID - once there's more evidence that this port's alive and healthy. :-) Go for it! I'd sure love to see this conversion get finished.

That makes sense and is understandable. :-)

So full speed ahead!!
