The Watchwood Melody
There is a wonderful tune that was created for Bard's Tale II called The Watchwood Melody in the game but it was derived from one of the great classical composers of Europe sometime before the 1900s. If there is anyone who recognizes this music, please tell me.

That's got to be before Beethoven even. Sounds like 17th-18th century to me. |

That must be the most horrible piece of midi music I've heard for ages. |

7's the one.. The arrangement in the sid is way better. I guess the midi file is done badly by ear or something. It's horrible, whereas the sid isn't. |

Ahhh, should have checked for the original version as SID. This is the original and elegant version of Watchwood Melody (Subtune 7). I have brought a recording of this tune to many music professors at various colleges. None of them could identify who the original composer was. One person suggested looking into 18th century quartets. No one has been able to help so far after twenty years of trying to find out. Since this had emerged in SID form, perhaps someone using a 64 knows who originally composed this elegant song. Please listen carefully to subtune 7...
