Goattracker 2.67 Sound Init Failed
Hi!
I have some problems with my new PC.
If I start Goattracker 2.67 then I see on the screen:
"Sound init failed. Check that soundcard drivers are installed."
I have Win XP. Can anybody help me?
Greetings,
A-Man / Xenon

1. "Check that soundcard drivers are installed."
2. download and install the latest driver
my 2 cents. |

Also delete old configfile (goattrk2.cfg) if you have one. Check that other directsound using applications (like winamp) work. |

So what, lay back, compose and surprise us with some fresh tunes. I'd like to do it myself but... |

Just recently I've been playing around with GT to see if I can do some tunes with it (used to use VT, CT, JCH and DMC).
I've read a bit through the threads concerning GT here, and notice a bug (?) that I've encountered had been seen before.
At times, GT refuses to play anything, which seems at random (but probably is not, as there usually will be a cause). At least, no sound is output. Also, when fidling with the instrument tables while playing a tune/pattern GT has the tendency to crash once in a while. Perhaps not all routines are fool (or error) proof. ;)
Are there tips you can give to prevend most of these stability errors to occur? Like, do not fiddle with instruments tables while playing a pattern/tune ? |
