BPM and DMC (Duration)

Hey PPL!

How many BPM do the Durations 05 and 06 in composers have?

I use the DMC composer together with Reason 4.0, and generally I need to adapt the durations and BPM.

If possible please give me also exact datas, like 150.500 BPM etc. Thanks.

Assuming you're running a PAL machine (50.125Hz), and that duration 5 means "new note data every 5 player calls", the highest note rate would be 50.125Hz/5 = 10.02 notes per second. Multiply this by sixty to get the number of notes per minute: 601.5. Let's say the feel of this music dictates that this fastest note speed corresponds to sixteenth notes, and the "beat" corresponds to fourths. We divide the sixteenths-per-minute by four to get the number of fourths per minute which we would call bpm in this case: 150.374 bpm.

Using the same assumptions, duration 6 would correspond to 125.311 bpm.

If we're talking PAL computer (which we are), then:

187.967033 BPM
125.3113553 BPM
93.98351648 BPM

...for the straight speeds. If you use some kind of shuffle-speed, the numbers differ of course...
