for some days now I get this error:
"Problems with file server. Probably down. :(
Please try to upload again later."
is it temporary?

When I'm trying to download from noname.c64.org address, it's the same. I guess it's temporary problem. Try upload on a foreign host and make your link to that address. |

As the file server, on which these files are placed, are freely sponsered by a third party, we behind CSDb have no direct control over it, and can not fix the problem ourselves.
We have contacted the people behind the file server, and their word was that it should be up again soon. (Within a day or so) |

Still nothing has been done to fix the server...
It's been broken over 2 weeks now, which clearly states that the people responsible for the functionality of the server don't really give a flying fuck if it works or not.. |

Just place your file on The Digital Dungeon ftp.scs-trc.net,
I will move it to the proper directory and you can
make a link instead of uploading it ;)

As I have mentioned before this 'file server' is donated by a third party because we does not have enough space on the server where CSDb is placed. (We get hosted for free)
Because of that we can do nothing but ask the people behind the 'file server' to put it back online.
We have done this several times, and every time they say that it should be online soon.
I personally believe that we are close to the point where it actually gets back online.
But it seems that the lifetime of this 'file server' is about to run out, so we really need a new one. Perhaps someone out there can/want to help?
What we need is a stable computer/server which is online 24/7 on a fixed IP, with some 100 megs to spare.
We then need a simple ftp-account on this server, and thats it.
On the current 'file server' there are 2318 files with a total size of 180.8M.
Anyone?

As it really dosn't look like we will ever get the old file-server up and running again, I have made a new temporarily one.
This means that it is now possible to up/download files again. However I havn't been able to transport all the existing files from the old fileserver to the new yet, so all existing files will not be available - yet!
I will try to get hold of these files asap, so don't start uploading files that already has been uploaded once, please!

Thank you very much for fixing the file-serving. Some ppl just don't have a clue that all this stuff is done for free, for fun and not run as professional business.
I really respect the big loads of work this thing needs to run a place like this and I don't have a problem if some stuff bugs from time to time, that is just normal but there are better ways to support this great site than nagging that the fileserver is down and how lame that is...
this is not meant to rag on ppl, but just make some people to think twice before complaining....
regards and a big hug to all the persons in charge, that are responsible for a fine place like this.... no other scene can offer such a great place...

Slator: 100% ACK!!! Good that you said it. Sadly it is forgotten too often and mentioned too seldom. I think you spoke for many many people here. |

Should work again now.
Sorry for the trouble. :/
(Within the next few hours you might encounter a 404-error when downloading, but this is only temporarily. If it happens try again a little later.) |

Hello maintainers.
It seems there is something wrong with uploading a release.
All i get is a white screen.
It is still possible to upload "screens" though!
Good luck! |

I can't see a problem at the moment. Perhaps it was something temporarily??
Since your post there have been 12 succesfull uploads.
If you still have a problem try to describe exactly what you do so I can try to recreate the bug. |
