Yes, it is related to Latest Releases Sort Order.
The problem is that I wanted to sort the latest releases as sugested, but this was very heavy, and I couldn't get the index's right. However, the frontpage is a cached list, so here it dosn't matter, but the page is dynamic, so here the sorting is different - for now.
The small box in the right bar it just me forgetting to update the sorting. Will fix. :)
