death date

according to date of birth, pls add a date of death including a textfield for the 'reason'
polluting the trivia doesnt look that good
and it will get more and more filled as time goes by :-(

I will die at the 6. June 2066 at 06:06 O´clock!

That makes me 06.06.66 06:06 THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST!

Adding death date can be good, but I wonder if people actually know it.

The topic opener about adding a death date, is because else the trivia gets poluted. That's a silly argument, which has more to do with polution of a database.

@hein: atleast a year can be added if known.
It's just like Date of Birth in that respect, although I fell that "Date of Death" sounds a bit harsh.
Don't have a better one though...

I think since we have date of birth we should also have date of death. I've requested this before when the statistics of oldest sceners was introduced since some sceners' ages was incorrect on it due to them not being alive any longer.

Just noticed that this doesn't seem to change anything on the oldest sceners list, you need to implement this on the statistics Perff. F.ex. Russell Lieblich who passed away last year at the age of 51 is listed as being 52.

I thought it sounded a bit harsh too, but i just wrote something - it can always be changed. Ideas?

Anyway, I have wanted to add it for some time now - just never got it done.

@Zyron: I'll fix that at... some point in time. :)

What's the difference in harshness between 'Death Date' or 'Date of Death'? You can always write down 'Sadly Passed Away on' or 'Saw the Light in' or 'Shot into Space in the Year' or 'Entered Walhalla in'

Tripping over words when the issue is about reality. It's all about the numbers, not the words.

maybe "Blended into the code"

nah! Life would be so easier when people start calling things with the thing's own names. "date of death" is the proper name - its 100% what the typed date is, and its understood by everybody.

I think too that "date of death" is appropriate, no need to give dying funny names, does not change anything.

Nearly everyone uses 'Date of Death' or 'DoD'.

oh well, lets do that!

if its not entered beside the date, reason is still polluting the trivia as in Waveform
and imho its ok to add the reason, most time its public knowledge anyway ...

but a more customizable view of sceners/releases/etc would be a good idea, so you can just switch off 'reason of death' so it does not annoy you ...

That info in Waveform's entry will _stay_ in the trivia! I updated the new "Date of Death" last night and that is enough!

Waveform... almost ten years have gone by... he was a great guy, shared some pitchers of beer with him at his favorite tavern a few times... he was always happy, even with his health problems...
