See vote statistics

Anonymous votes shouldn't be an option.
If a user chooses to vote, they should atleast have the courage to share their views.

If I'm not completely wrong this subject is already spoken of in order threads, and opening a new thread seems pointless.

Considering I'm the top voter here, I also feel offended by the request as there's clearly a whole bunch of people out there extremely bad at voting around here. You, Wile Coyote, belong to that category with your 24 votes. (last checked 2010-09-05 at 12:47)

I am keeping my votes anonymous a bit longer.

What's that suppose to mean?

Ok, backup up a second. Read some of your opinions on earlier threads and agree on much of it. And I think I get the point of your argument... Not sure however everyone will see it.

Just picked a handful

Looking at who started the earlier threads, it seems like a rather mixed collection of people...

Jan Harries, Jailbird, Sledge,WDR,Laxity, Merman & The Dark Judge and this one by Wile Coyote. Jailbird is the most active voter amongst the bunch, Sledge has voted least. Then of course we can also start to look at the amount of productions made. Here Laxity, Jailbird and Jan Harries have been most active over time, but all in all a pretty active bunch of people/or have been once upon a time... I guess there are many parallels that can be made, but as discussed before; without votes (and voting for 8xx.xxx releases definitely takes some time and requires dedication...) it is a quite pointless discussion.

I recently noticed there where aprox 340 downloads for the latest disc-magazine, but there where only about 11 votes...

It is obvious the subject of anonymous votes bothers users. Until it is resolved, the discussion will be reopened time and time again.

If CSDb chooses to stick with the vote system, they should remove the option to vote anonymously. Time and time again, it appears to be the anonymous voter that down votes.

"but there where only about 11 votes... "

Voting should be possible in one click, instead of having to enter another screen. I'd vote much more then.

I tried using CSDB with my rather lo-fi Nokia phone and it worked pretty well. Amazingly fast, and rather easy to navigate. The vote screen was pretty straightforward roll-list that took over the graphics and after the vote was done, everything was back to normal viewing-mode.

But sure. A Like button or a "move mouse left or right, up or down to adjust the vote" and just click would be cooler.

I agree with Oswald on the ease of accessibility. I vote a bit, but for those that don't like the extra screen or cannot be bothered: how about implementing some radio buttons somewhere on the main entry or something? Despite this, people should be less lazy (which is possibly a by-product of modern computing).

When I vote for the charts of any magazine, I'm comfortable that it's made anonymous part from those involved counting them.
It's soon election here in Sweden again and I'm completely happy about making it as a private, withdrawn from revealing my thoughts to the public.

Now, since the digital era, every private gesture is asked of being public at demand, but I'm quite comfortable in not getting friends by claiming my public view to the others.
I don't seclude my voting because I know the people, but because I vote seriously on what I find as quality or not. I have no need to tell anyone else about it.
Moreover, if I do, I write a remark in the comments about it.

Thinking it will go more than to that of paradigms or gestures of the temporary but being significant for the producers at hand. Then No names would be needed.
I don’t have to be angry if at least someone made it a 1: That would simply mean that someone disliked the prod. In addition, I might care about it and so on.

ah i think i need to amend my comment in case of misunderstanding.

by "on screen" i meant voting always available on screen (in the sidebar) at one click and not having to click to another to vote.

NOT always displaying your name. sorry.
