would be a nice idea for a other c64-portal ;)

but there must be a lot of information for every
file...od do you really know what 'wixbouncer'
really does if yu 'just' look for a sinus-
generator?

f.i. i am looking for a tool that can grab and
save sprites from a bitmap...i have it somewhere
but what was the damn name? =\

press [search] to continue...

tool collections... yes... nice...
but what tools does "all you need #1" contain?

now that we have that category, shouldn't it be possible (and done) to list all tools collected in this collection, along with the proper link to the single tool entry?

I know this is quite some work and will probably require either a new table layout for releases or a seperate table for the collections, but it should be done to make "tool collection" entries useful...

imo its a little different with music and graphic collections...
those collections often collect the music or graphic of one individual or a certain group, so you get an idea what you have to expect.. and even if you don't.. it's "just" something to watch or listen to...

tool collections are often done by lamers who don't know what else to release, or by people who've been asked some times to many what tools _they_ use so they put out their tool disk under a fancy name...
these tools are done by various sceners, there are countless versions and different purposes... and you'll want to work with them...

that's why I can live with graphic und music collections the way they are, but propose to change the tool collections

I think, its a good idea to add 'tool collections', but its usable only when there are fields with name and description that must be filled with the datas of the included applications. (And it must be searchable, offcourse.)

An addition for my previous posts:
If there categories in the descriptions, it can be good searchable.
