About adding persons to database
I have recently added a few persons to the database. I found that it was relatively easy to find additional information with the help of google.com. Here I could for instance find their email address and perhaps even their personal (snail-mail) address, which I could easily have added to the database.
But, when I think about it: is it really smart that everyone is allowed to enter such information which is afterall very personal and not that scene-relevant ?
I was thinking that perhaps it should not be possible for everybody to enter such information, but if any scene-member want to have it added to his own database-entry it should be possible. |

Don't ever enter personal information apart from maybe the real name into the db. That's really private information and sceners should only be able to enter it themself.
I remember we had this discussion before (e.g. lock certain db fields), what happened to that idea? |

Perhaps I should add that I only added handle, group(s) and perhaps a real name and country.
And I took the additional effort to try to find an email address to them and notified them that they were added. (one of them even told me he already was in the database with another handle. Bummer :) )

Yeah, allright. You stated clearly that you didn't add too much personal data, hence my posting wasn't meant to raise my finger at your direction. |
