"fuzzy" date entry
i think it would be a very useful feature if you could flag any dates as "precise", "before" or "after" - this way also info could be collected where exact dates aren't known, but a certain timescale IS known.
for example there are a lot of releases from my old group "ice" which do not contain any release date. this group existed between 1986 and 1989. so if i could enter "after 1.1.1986" and "before 31.12.1989" as releasedate the info in the database would be a *bit* more accurate atleast. the same is true for members of groups, where often the actual date of joining/leaving is unknown, but a certain timescale can be estimated from memberlists in releases for example.
for some things in the database that wouldnt take a lot of changes at all (eg memberships in groups) since there you already enter a timescale which only needs the proper flagging (and flagging can simply be ignored in those parts of the site that dont support it yet when displaying info). for some other thing (like releasedates) it might need some more effort, i dont know...
anyone, it would be a nice thing to have, and could make the database a lot more useful to me atleast :) |

to make it even more fuzzy, a 'guessed'-flag would also give us at least hints for several releases where there's NOTHING yet :-)
the sidenote 'you shall only add information which you are 100% sure of' should be changed then ;) |

a "guessed" flag (or "not sure" or whatever) would make sense for many other things (eg credits) aswell :) |
