Moderation rules

User comments are for comments, and not for telling the world about possible wrong information, or other off-topic.

after commenting on a release I saw in the list that a lot of my comments got censored. I thought I will do a little investigation, and I have found out that some people are more equal than the others.

take this release for example:

Cauldron II

as you see TDJ&Steppe are allowed to comment offtopic, while I have simply posted the rules, which are quoted on the top of this post, and yes they have censored it.

can the moderation team stop this that every person has a different set of rules assigned, based on someone being friend / not friend / etc ?

why doesn't such behaviour surprise me!

some people probably shake their balls eachother on IRC#64, which makes them "more equal"

same with the "argument" I had with Burglar in another thread, his insulting posts ("I'm sorry, but you really are an idiot, rough" blabla) were kept, my responses partly deleted.

First of all, I'm nobody's friend. I travel alone mister! Also, the last time I was on irc the internet still was in black & white.

That being said, I've removed my comments from this particular case. Which makes Steppe's comment look quite foolish, so I hope you can live with that.

shame you didn't read my reply on your post, as it was also deleted. and yes, I understand why both msgs got deleted, even though their should be rag sub here. for old times sake.

yeps. Moderation was summoned against behaviour that nata/wanderer presented.

tdj, well if you're not a friend, then I should be an enemy. god knows whats going on. rules should be either strictly kept or strictly not kept. but whats going on now is not good.

Sigh:

In the Cauldron 2relase, this is what Steppe wrote;

Hell, just delete it, it's not locked...

Oswald posted the Rules, even more out of topic if nothing else. Also explained in PM the very second this thread was started.

We could just leave you ruin the comments and threads - as used to be, when we had Nata/Bamu and others doing the same. Origin of Moderators beeing involved in CSDB - When people did ask us to remove the worst crap.

PM either of the mods for removal of the comments out of topic!

obviously we can't activly monitor every entry. there are probably hundreds of cases where something doesnt comply with the rules. just send a message to the mods, and they will deal with it.

spamming rules into the comments will only increase your trollcount though, just as violating rules just because someone else violated them before.

Someone deleted that sid (not me, though), and someone removed my comment. And kudos to TDJ for making my lonely comment look superfoolish, making me the nerd of the day! I hate you! :-|
