Add a "remove self-maintainer" feature in your added releases page.
Just a small idea...
How about include some sort of button or check-box to do multiple self-maintainer removing all at once, under the added entries page of your userpage? For the last 1.5 years I've uploaded wares and automatically set myself as maintainer on nearly all of them (I was thinking of security as first priority), but I've had people tell me not to do that recently and that I understand they want to add more details to various releases, as well as other reasons like locking their own work. But I've locked so many it'll take bloody ages to unlock them all... I could imagine the difficulty for more active uploaders who do the same.
So how about it? Of course make this feature only available to releases that YOU have locked, so that nobody else can unlock them freely from their side and cause obvious insecurity. |

Interesting idea Conrad. Multiple removal of maintained entries would speed things up. Security should not be an issue with uploaded releases since we all love our scene. |

I wish you were right, but that's not the case. At least here happened many times that lots of entries were deleted by some asshole. |

Well, that was at a time when locking wasn't around, yes? (Haven't been here very long so I don't know, sorry.) but with a feature like this, it can be the uploader's decision to remove self-maintainer instead of some bloke off the street, since after all it's only available on their userpage, and that it only goes for entries that they have maintained themselves.
The alternative of course is to ask moderators/admins to do it for you, but you have to rely on them first. :) |

unfortunatly, it happens frequently, and the last incident was just some weeks ago.
i personally add all newly added stuff i care about to my watchlist for that very reason. |

hmm, I hadn't noticed that many releases deleted on here, that's the beauty of being a mod I guess :) the big brothers are watching!
I'll just reserve some holiday time and do it manually then.
Thanks for your understandings. |

Isn't there a record of who has been deleting entries? The asshole deleting stuff is serving no legitimate purpose. |

ofcourse there is a log of what is beeing deleted (so mods can undelete stuff when needed). and indeed, deleting stuff without a good reason is a good way to get banned =P |
