Upload of 58 Mb fixing guide for C64

I think I've already discussed about this in some forum, but I can't remember where. I have a fixing guide for C64 that I have never found on the net. I have scanned it into jpg images from a book a few years ago. The whole thing is 58Mb compressed. I tried to upload it to CSDb, but it doesn't work. Maybe it is too big. Can I upload it to any site and add the download link to CSDb?

thanx,

Ready.

Ever tried making a PDF out of it? There are very good and free PDF solutions out there, www.freepdfxp.de comes to mind. I can imagine that whole pile of jpg files gets a good bunch smaller that way without sacrificing too much of the quality.

erhm.. sounds very interresting... You are more than welcome to upload it to ftp://ftp.harries.dk

I will then make it available as some HTTP link, although I do not have the worlds fastest connection ;-) ..but at least it will be available.

mmmh...I tried with FreePDF for Windows XP with the medium quality print, but still it goes above 58Mb. Besides since my scans were taken not from an original book, but from an already photocopied one, quality is a critical issue. Too low quality means not reading the characters.

So I guess I'll try to upload all the jpg scans, which seem to me the smallest solution so far.

No way, man. It won't OCR a thing. Hopefully tomorrow I'm going to upload it somewhere as soon as I have a bit of time.

Don't you ever get tired (or even notice) of your "gimme gimme gimme" mentality?

(no, this comment has nothing to do with GT2 requests, but rather everything else)

Ok, I never saw it in that way. - MAYBE - your are right, :)
but for me it's impossible to download about 58mb of files.

... and about "everything else":
Since I've zero coding skills ..., I can't make my own tools or add features...I only can hope on sceners generosity. :)
I always was the opinion that people are happy to get suggestions/support/ideas and similar...

However, if this mentality isn't desired...

------

... and still my question remains:

Who is allowed to access ftp://ftp.elysium.pl/ ?
If not sceners - who else?

Nata,

Don't know what's your problem,

I can connect without any problems to ftp.elysium.pl,
it's a normal anonymous FTP site and there are
no restrictions.

Contact Centrax for more info, he is maintaining it.

certain countries/isps seem to be blocked from elysium.pl .. while germans, uk'ers and obviously italians can't go in, others seem to be able to access that site. =)

While I'm having problems with Elysium most of the time when accessing it with my webbrowser, it always works when using an ftp client (using the Total Commander). Just a suggestion.

nata: the point is, an OCR version will be created if someone finds the time. Or maybe not. But your message doesn't have any effect, or perhaps it can irritate someone enough to NOT to do the work? :) The same with requests to musiceditor-tutorials or secret music tools.

the copy is so bad that IMO it would be difficult to proprely OCR that, however this book seems useful , and is written primarily for ordinary people , ther's no need to be technican = easy understandable for everyone involved. thanks!

Good. I'm glad you found it useful, even if not fully readable, but it is the best I could do with the copy I had of that book. Besides it is also missing the first page and some others.

I don't think!
Anyway, I don't have to justify about such things :)
If I ask for 'secret music tools', then let me ask.
Who knows, maybe ... :-P :-) :-O

Of course you don't have to justify anything, just remember the impression you make which is quite irritating. Like I now make an impression of myself being an asshole by reminding about it :)
