Votes will be deleted!
All votes will be deleted of sceners who got the "Account closed" status for some different reasons. (btw.: All posts are not deleted).
WHY? |

Hey! I don't want to loose any of my votes. I'm still the top-voter around and don't want to see any of those kilos drop! |

Votes for inactive users (account closed) are not deleted. They just don't count. :)
So if a user get reactivated the votes are back.
Why? Well, no other reason than we just thought that only votes from active users should count back in the days.
Sometimes accounts are closed for a reason - fake accounts fx, and surely votes from fake accounts shouldn't count.
Post are not deleted - no. They are often part of some context which will be lost if post just dissapears. |

I agree with gpz. This voting shit has caused nothing but trouble. It's a means for assholes to downvote people they don't like, and for suckups to upvote people they do like.
We all know what quality is and where our own work lies on that spectrum of quality, voting becomes reduced to a popularity contest, or something for people with confidence issues to dwell on. |

*SIGH* ... really no drama intended, but this solution is really strange in my simple view of logic.
Your exception is not the rule in this causal context.
But hey ... thanks for bringing light into this secret. ;) |

it looks like an additional development work but better way is to count votes of the deleted accounts which are known to be true accounts (for example the sceners we know from the parties, the ones who have releases etc) and don't count votes of the fake or suspected accounts. Still, current system looks reasonable. |

Gosh! So you mean Im still the top-voter?
Regardless
reading comments over the years about voting etc. Sometimes pitiful cries about anonymity contra fair play: I have voted for over 22000 releases here on the CSDb (check misc. stats) to get a descent view or opinion on things, all discussions coming from someone not even close those numbers is hilarious to me. And besides it would take at least five then to level what was worth (for some important projects to get in the light)
I care about the scene and I do like much what I see and if I dont, its down the hill.. So if you see a 7?.. that might be me
Losing some pounds over some sucker getting his account wiped from hilarious behavior, wouldnt affect my standing
Not at all ;) |
